Getting rid of cigarette smells
    #8588066 - 07/02/08 02:46 PM (3 months, 7 days ago)

Sometimes I'll get reckless in my apartment and smoke a few cigarettes inside when I'm trashed. Yeah, I'm a smoker, but I know the smell is offensive and I don't want my place to reek of cigs.

I have an ionizing air filter and a HEPA air filter (old place, have allergies, kinda need both). They do a decent job of removing the smell, but it takes a while.

Just wondering if anyone had any tricks up their sleeves for removing tobacco smoke smells.

I spray 'Oust' in the air and use 'febreeze' on couches/curtains if I need to get rid of smoke smells, always worked great for me.

plants are good at covering up smells

One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my
little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out
warehouse. "Oh, no," I said. "Disneyland burned down."
He cried and cried, but I think that deep down, he thought it was a pretty
good joke.
I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty
late.

Here's an old trick that's always worked for me:

DON'T SMOKE.

Oust does cling to the air molecules I guess is the word, and removes them so that along with some fresh air is really the only way. I like to open all the windows, and even door to let fresh air circulate. Thats really the only thing other than just your plain coverups.

Yeah, that's the best one. But that mission was an epic FAIL... 4 or 5 times.

Cigs are one of the smells you can usually cover up temporarily, but to eradicate is fairly impossible.

Scrub your paint, Shampoo your carpet, dust everywhere, and plants are good.

Does it best.
I wouldn't use it, but it sure works.
