No there's not...have you even heard of the c4e stealth firmware. It WAS a problem with improper creation of copies.

its only stealth until it gets detected, im saying there's a good chance based on the history of modded dvd drives, lots of people have been banned for modding them.

Yah refurbs are not always "like new", ive heard of people getting a dead systems back...well ok i guess that would be like new

Thats why most people just drop the $8 and permanently fix the problem themselves.

the fix doesn't always work.  secondly it depends on the damage that has been done.  and that fix is hardly permanent...thats really some bullshit to be spreading right there.
