Compost jar

I through a contam 1/2 pt(green mold size of a nickel) cake outside that was 100% done in a decomposing wood pile and is actually growing into the soil and getting some nice pins. Is it safe to eat the finished fruits? Would it be fine to let them finish their cycle and deposit spores, die and maybe more will grow and have a mini field of them? If the chances are slim then I'd rather pick them if its safe to eat.
I can get photos if needed. But I assume they will only grow if growing conditions are right. The green mold is the same size but black now. I saw a slug on the cake which is still white and pinning, no other contams I can see.

Yes they are fine to eat.

Cool, more the merrier. If I left them long enough to drop spores would they even grow? I was thinking there might be a nice chance considering they are growing now from the cake and the myc is trying to grow on the dirt/compost
