Looks like a Williamsii of some kind for me. The flower will tell what it is.

But will it? And here is where I get confused. Yeah a williamsii has yellow flowers normally. What about the other lophophoras though? It gets confusing, and with online auction vendors not being able to tell the truth of the matter (and using fake names) it leaves me scratching my head. Look at my avatar. A diffusa? I am not sure, but the flowers are a bright pink. Not a williamsii, that is certain.
This is the never ending debate, I am afraid.

if the flowers are pink then it is williamsii of some sort, diffusa is white.

I don't think so. If you do some looking around on the net, you will see that there are tons of variations. The ribs seem to be the best way to identify a diffusa. I guess I'll just contact my seller.

There are not williamsii with yellow flowers, most williamsii have white flowers with a tint of pink. Others like decipiens or fricii have pinkier and different shaped flowers. Diffusa has white flowers and is rather green than gray (the one in your avatar looks like diffusa).

Thanks FH! I started looking at more picks online as well as a couple of books I have. I was wrong about the yellow flowers . They do look yellow when they dry up though IMO.

If it is, I find it odd not to see any pups at flowering size. This is the flower coloration mine has BTW.

V. caespitsae has very little pink to it. This one could be a fricii or jourdaniana. Itīs hard to tell by the tiny pic.

jourds. had far more pronounced aeroles and less defined ribs, they only seem to deploy a single flower per button and their petals are quite stubby.
fricii they may be indeed.
lophs are so
i cant wait to get some for myself.

Yeh, The ribs look much more like a fricii than Caesipitosa. However, that might not be the actual cactus photo. It could be a random stock photo that was used. People do it all the time when selling plants and cactus. Instead of posting a pic of the item for sale they post a random pic of a large healthy mature specimen found off of a web sight. The reason for doing this I suppose could be many reasons like maybe they don't have a camera or they want to post a pic of what it can look like if you take care of it and let it mature. That happened to me when I bought a kratom plant. The picture in the item description was a large healthy good size kratom specimen but when it arrived it was barely over an inch tall and quickly died upon arrival.
You should definitely ask for a pic of the item in question.

Your right about stock photos. The loph I got really did't match the avatar pic I was using. I really got to looking at it. Mine didn't match the ribs, but it is that same kind nonetheless. Also, mine is much lighter in color. I suspect it needs more sun, as did a P Torch I purchased.
I wasn't saying mine is a fricii BTW. I was just using the flowers for reference. I think I will just contact the folks who sold it to me.
