Knitting a beanie

Hey guys, I want to knit a certain type of beanie, but I have no idea what the style of it's called all the pattern you need to make it.

This is what they look like:


Does anyone know what these are called? They start off loose at the base and get thinner and thinner.

my ex-girlfriend could teach you, but luckily I
haven't seen her in quite some time..

she learned how to knit from book she got
at a local bookstore..

Some of those are kinda close. I'm just going to use this guide and change it to get rid of the weird bit at the end and make it heaps longer. I'll post a picture when it's done in a few days!

There is some crazy little hippie shop up in Campbell Town you should check out, they have muchos hippie attire and I'm pretty certain I saw a beanie like the one you are explaining.
