5 arrested at Quarry Park for ecstacy 250 pills net felony charges

Five people, all out-of-state residents, were arrested Saturday at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park on drug charges after authorities discovered more than 250 ecstasy pills.
Portage County Sheriff Duane Kaley said sheriff's deputies were called to the park at 12001 S.R. 82 to assist after the five were discovered to be in possession of suspected drugs.
Arrested were:
* Jeremiah C. Ooghe, 23, of Michigan, on one count of trafficking marijuana, a fifth-degree felony
* Emila Jones, 23, of Michigan, on one count of drug possession, a fifth-degree felony. Kaley said Jones was found to be in possession of 78 ecstasy pills as well as suspected tar heroin, which will be sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation for testing.
* Justin Seabolt, 19, of Wisconsin, on one count of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. Kaley said Seabolt was found to be in possession of 22 ecstasy pills as well as a smoking device.
* Daniel P. Saputo, 20, of Michigan, on one count of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. He is accused of possessing 26 ecstasy pills, suspected LSD and a smoking device, Kaley said.
* Shawn L. Schley, 20, of Wisconsin, on one count of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. He is accused of possessing 142 ecstasy pills and several smalls bags of suspected psilocybin mushrooms.
All five were arraigned via video Monday in Portage County Municipal Court in Ravenna, where bond was set at 10 percent of $15,000 for each except Ooghe, whose bond was set at 10 percent of $25,000. Preliminary hearings have been set for all five on Friday in municipal court.
The Portage County Prosecutor's Office also will be contacted to determine if further charges will be filed, Kaley said.

That place gets hotter and hotter every year. A ton of regulars told me the sheriff has regular staff throughout there now, sad. Within a few years there will be no safe festival grounds, what a world.

Its total bullshit I was out there for about 2 hours Saturday untill I got busted also.When I first arrived I seen them people with x get busted, they all sitting in front of everyone coming into the fest. I was also caught by staff with a buddy he got poped wit a 8 ball powder, and I got busted with 43 hits. Thank god they didn't turn us in, them people who got busted with all the pills must of been givin staff or the cops shit. Cause all the staff did was do the powder, and ate my cid. I fully do not support nelsons ledges anymore, staff is total pricks to people. Because you know what.. caught up ur shit or go to prison. They dont care they will be doing ur shit later, or selling it back to people out there.

I don't think I'll be there too much anymore. I can't have fun at a place I have to look over my shoulder every five seconds. Last time I was there staff had two golf carts and 8 staff members posted directly in front of our campsite.
I pay good money to go to a venue and enjoy myself, not get shaken down for drugs because I'm talking to someone on the side of the path, fuck them.
It's just a matter of time before there is no where left.........

That sucks.
I however, am not going to let fear get me down.
The Shroomery gathering has been hosted for years at the Ledges, and as far as I know, they appreciate our business as a group. They've never given me any problems; yes they do seem a bit paranoid at times, but I doubt they will bother our group at large during our gathering.
I don't have much worry about going to a gathering there. We shall see.

Haha, ya I'm totally not worried about the gathering.
There shouldn't be a problem on the off weekends. As long as nobody at our campsite is blantently screaming about drugs, or acting a fool and harassing people, we'll be fine.
The place is getting hotter though. It's becuase there's loads of trashy people running through there now selling speed at fests. There's a bad element in those woods, and that bad element tells all their friends where to find the "good shit" and that place gets infested with retards. They bring a bad vibe to festivals, make it a hotter place for regulars, and they sell dirty drugs.
But like I said on an off weekend there will be no coke pushing wiggers, so there for no shady undercovers asking to buy random what nots,

Woah... talk about premonitions. I had a bad experience at the ledges last year where I got very paranoid and felt as if I was going to get busted. This has made me rethink the purpose of these gatherings and what I should and should not be going there for.
So it's only partially surprising to read about this, since in some way I have been forewarned, through my experience last year as well as this latest news.
It is sad that people cannot have a good time without people sticking their noses in other people's business, and then bringing law enforcement into the picture. As someone stated above, it's sad that these kids have their whole life ahead of them & theirs have barely started, and that they now have to be casualties of this twisted drug war. People who could potentially be doing good, instead are facing possible years of their life taken away for this senseless "war" on drugs which cannot be won.
Be safe everyone. I look forward to this upcoming gathering, having all these great minds in one place. Just remember why we're going. Not to take lots of drugs with like-minded people, but to be in our sober minds & enjoy their company and the short time we'll have camping with them.
Those who get with the times & realize it's just not worth the risk meddling with illegal drugs in risky places, will be just fine. Those who just don't get it and continue doing stupid shit like bringing illegal drugs to hot spots may learn the hard way. So I suggest everyone heed this warning, regardless of what activities you had planned on & what your expectations were for the gathering this summer.

Despite what happened the sherrif is a decent guy. He's gotta enforce the law, and gets heat from the locals. He's much better than the opposition has been in the past.
The prosecutor is a raving lunatic asshole though, and I'd bet he makes these folks out to be murderers. Hopefully not though.

i am the one that got busted with 142 pills and some shrooms. none of us did ANYTHING wrong or fucked with the staff in any way! the ONLY reason they decided to call the cops was because of the music we listen to. we are juggalos and listen to ICP and that type of shit. ICP's annual music festival is the Gathering of the Juggalos and it took place at Nelson Ledges from 2003-2005 and they didn't like how wild it got. THAT IS THE ONLY REASON WE GOT ARRESTED!
we weren't listening to the music or disrespecting anybody in any way. they simply saw the clothes we were wearing..
the staff member were going around stealing everyones drugs and doing them themselves and selling them themselves. the police have been informed of their activies and they know what is going on.
and anyone who wants to call us snitches, fuck them! we only snitched on those who snitched on us.
I SUGGEST EVERYONE STAYS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
i wouldn't be surprised if a raid takes place in the near future.
also, we all got indicted on more charges than just possession. we all got trafficking too. none of us have been charged of anything yet and we are all awaiting court dates from august - october. they really dont got us on shit and we are prolly just looking had hella fines and probation.
but once again,
