Angry roommate tips off police to marijuana plants

CANTON - If you grow pot in your house, don't upset your roommate.
Police said Jeffrey J. Weldon, 22, of 1313 Ninth St. NW, learned that lesson early Saturday.
Police said Weldon was involved in a dispute with his roommate.
So ...
In retaliation, jail records said, the roommate called police and alleged Weldon grew pot in their house.
About 12:30 a.m., officers found the marijuana plants, as well as weapons, inside the residence, records show.
A handgun also was found in a pickup truck.
Police charged Weldon with felony counts of carrying a concealed weapon and trafficking marijuana.
He also was charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana and illegal manufacturing of narcotics, all misdemeanors.
Weldon was arrested and remained Sunday in a Stark County jail cell.

Oh man, that was SO predictable.

That was a dumb move on the roommate's part... he could have been charged as well just for living under the same roof with the grow.

The difference is in the amount of plants grown, or weight depending on how the police handle the charge.

Probably not smart of the cops to release the address, I wouldn't be surprised if said roommate got some visits from angry people.

Exactly. If the marijuana plants doesn't get you the trafficking will. It's just another bullshit charge they get so they get something out of you.
