I think Terrence McKenna already exposed his views on schizophrenia in a speech. I can't find the link to it anymore but his analysis was very interesting so I suggest you try to dig it up!

I read somewhere it was defined as the dreaming brain interpreting waking reality. It's also been suggested it can be part of a big shift of the psyche from one state to another. Interesting points about it are things like people being able to talk to animals/interpret their language.

I can see the spectrum of lights when I look at them, if I see a full spectrum HPS or something, its almost psychedelic. It's alot like when you are in a pool for awhile and you have chlorine water in ur eyes and you look like a light.

Like, what do I think about them as a set or individually? Well, schizophrenia probably wouldn't be too fun, I don't believe in souls, visions are interesting, and society is fucked.

The existence of schizophrenia as a naturally arising mental disorder is questionable in many patients. Many cases were found under the influence of hypnosis, a highly suggestive process that could have the potential to invent other personalities.

there are different types of schizophrenia.
schizo/psychosis is all about getting inaccurate information and acting on it as it is accurate.

but from my experience with the medical community so far tells me that is it poorly understood and treatment is in the hands of the patient for the most part
they don't have any effective, well rehearsed routes for dealing with psychosis

yoga and religious life are important to the human, it is hard to distinguish between unhealthy and healthy vision with psychosis interfering speaking of the practice of mysticism, this is why delusions are so archetypical and psychosis so misunderstood

I can only speak from my own experience, but during a brief time of 'losing my grip on reality', I was certainly not having a blast. It was quite horrible.
I pushed myself too hard, the spiritual addiction. Attempted to storm the gates of heaven and ended up crashing hard with a dark cloud keeping me company.
A teacher of mine explained that the path should lead to gentleness, ease and grace. Having multiple peak experiences and tasting higher states of consciousness without a break is too much for a 'mental processor' that is still operating at a lower capacity. Basically my being was unable to embody and express the experience properly. The 'mental processor' must upgrade over time, but must be given the chance to upgrade, with work and practice. This is what he told me.
Ken Wilber explains the same with states and stages. Whatever stage you are at is how you will interpret your state. States come and go, stages are permanent. Peak states are fine, however it's just fireworks, they always end. Anyone can have a peak experience, however there is real work to be done, which is the growth, evolution and transcendence of ones entire being to higher stages.
All great lessons indeed. I recovered from this mess by means of the purge, partaking in an Ayahuasca ceremony with a Shaman from Peru. After the ceremony and through the winter months of silence and stillness, stability returned and I can certainly say that the journey certainly seems more graceful.

News headlines a few months ago said that using marijuana just once increased your odds of getting schizophrenia like 100%.... So, give it some time, and most people will be able to answer this question first hand....

Some walk into it on purpose, like 4 times in two years, and whoop its ass every time... With weed.
Its a mental illness, just a hallucination, not happening... People are stuck and need to make better choices. Words are the way out.

schizophrenia is a horrible condition to get stuck in. it definetly cannot be solved by mere words or even todays medications; if people are not willing to totally reinvent themselves mentally. a good friend of mine has been schizophrenic (unclassified, shows symptoms of disorganization, paranoia, delusions etc.) and has been so for two years suffering many bad episodes. schizophrenia has nothing to do with the soul, or visions or society even really (in my opinion) and is more a delirious confused mind state which appears so real the person who suffers from the disease belives it to be so. the medication has helped him alot but it took two different sets of meds and a year in a ward for the criminally insane before he got better. hes alot better now than before, but things hes allergic to the sun and wears sunscreen in the pitch black basement in which he lives.
schizophrenia must be a burden to the victim and is definetly not a good place to be mentally

I was diagnosed with PTSD, then Bipolar, then Schizophrenia, then Schizoaffective. You can beat it with the power of your mind. At least in my experience. Holosync from Centerpointe has helped a lot. And weed. And good music. And overcoming fear. And much research.
