The most "bang" for your buck
    #8533217 - 06/17/08 10:32 AM (2 months, 18 days ago)

In Your Money or Your Life, the authors ask the reader to consider the subjective returns they receive on their spending.  As part of a program which results in financial independence, they recommend eliminating as many low-return expenses as possible.

I have found this technique to be highly effective, not only  for allowing me to live beneath my means, but also to gain maximum enjoyment from the money I spend.

I recommend this book to anyone interested in becoming more conscious of the true value of money, as well as achieving financial independence.

Buying :smirk: a book won't help you save money.

I've always been a good saver, to save you need a goal.  When I was a kid I'd spend a year saving for a new computer.  Now I'm saving for a house.

I don't understand why people spend all their money.  My friends spend it all because they can.  They'll buy a load of shit and end up giving it away or not using it.

They have a "I'll win the lottery one day" attitude and spend half the time complaining they have no money.  The only definition I can think for that attitude is "dumb".

Money makes money too, once you've saved enough you get a good income in interest.  I get $80 a month just in interest.
