To "learn" something, don't you have to presume that it is worth believing....?

Is learning believing? It would be nicer to arrive at direct knowledge without needing to build up a foundation of information that could prove erroneous later on. Can consciousness apprehend truth directly? Is directly knowing something verifiable?

Ya~ know, my question above is not correct.... A person can read (learn about) a book like the Bible without believing it..... HHhhmmmm.... I hereby withdraw my question....

Some truths, yes.... Instincts could be considered "the truth" - in a subjective way.... Eeehhh.....? "Directly knowing something", from what I have heard about Nikola Tesla, he had his own version of a seemingly direct knowledge.... I am sure this could be argued as to how he came about his "new knowledge", but his ideas were also verified later thru time....
