I LOVE them fresh but I like near 100% accuracy. I've notice that a 12 g mushy usually ways 1-1.2 grams.
, I cut up about 100 grams fresh. This is personal use stash and cutting them up for quicker ingestion/scaling. The chamber I was using took a week or more to dry them so this should take much less the way I have them setup. I just don't have the money to make a proper chamber and the ones I have don't work worth a crap. I just need something that can handle a good amount of mushrooms and use damprid. Maybe a link for a simplistic one...

Put some damprid in a bowl, place some type of screen on the top and place a fan on low next to them, and then let them sit there.
Its the cheapest way possible.

Yea no reason to buy an expensive one man. Invest in a cheap one, and if you choose to get a more expensive one then do so. I have yet to use one unless I borrow a friends.

Man you are asking a complicated question. The breakdown of psilocibin/psilocin is the main factor when considdering this question. Most people consider the upper limit to be 95 degrees (C or F i can't remember) from what I read but many think that any heat increases the breakdown of the chemicals. I don't know there are also other factors like evaporative chemical reactions that may add to breakdown. If you feel like doing an strain isolate and testing it potency wise with heat dehydration vs. fan/chemical. The main non heat drying method involves fan drying for a while then drying with a desiccant chamber. I don't kn0ow what the deal is I use the second method because I have an apparatus that can handle a lot of mushies for that method so there is no need to change unless I find what I am doing is decreasing potency. I have never heard of the fan drying/desiccant method having adverse potency effects so it was an easy choice. But do not just desiccant chamber dry, you are supposed to fan dry until it is dry inside and out and then put them in a desiccant chamber.

For having, in the natural history of this earth, seen a succession of worlds, we may from this conclude that there is a system in nature ... by which they are intended to continue these revolutions. But if the succession of worlds is established in the system of nature, it is in vain to look for anything higher in the origin of the earth. The result, therefore, of our present enquiry is, that we find no vestige of a beginning and no prospect of an end."
