I mist everything...In moderation that is. The sides, the perlite, and the cakes. Once pins start to form do not spray them...They'll end up rotting.
You'll be fine on your trip. Don't worry.

I sprayed my pins, I sprayed them plenty, and they turned out fine.. Hmm, maybe it has something to do with the conditions?..

mist mist mist until you get pin formation. all that water helps makes fat healthy babies. the only time you should worry about misting is if youre heavy misting directly on pins. it causes aborts you can continue to mist all the way thru the flush, just dont be spraying heavy mist directly onto the fruits. if youre REALLY worried just mist your perlite and terrarium sides.

i also love the taste of fresh mushrooms. i dont taste much difference in cubes as i do with whatever the white ones you buy at the store are... same texture. similar taste...i love mushrooms tho

hmmm, well it's not a MAOI.
I don't want a mild high for a week that just doesn't sound fun. I'm not a fan of being 'high' for a long period of time no matter how enjoyable it is.
Oh, wait, what's that there...pins!!
Not an even pinning unless this means its going to start to blow up in a day or two. I know once my other jar started it was like 2-3 days and had a full harvest. Will not having light from above effect the amount and size of the mushrooms since the grow toward it? or maybe the backside not fruit?
How do I perform flushes? Do I pick then dunk/roll? When rolling should I add dry BRF to the verm for extra nutrients? Or just pick and leave it alone.

I don't know what meds he was on but mainly people complain about being high real easy, not getting high unless they eat an obscene amount sometimes this is accompanied by the way too long lasting high. The only way to be sure is to do em. Bad trips on mushrooms seldom happen anyway. Only one person I ever knew had a bad trip on them, and she was kinda messed up to begin with.
Btw for flushes just pick re-dunk and roll. adding BRF would be a contamination risk.
Oh and is it just me or is there a green spot on the top of the second one from the left on the bottom row. Just above your hydrometer in the picture.

I hate meds, took a while to build up the nerve but I needed help. SO there is a chance that these meds will make it difficult for me to 'trip' from mushrooms or either very easily... I know its not an MAOI so I'm not worried about that.
The med name is Lexapro

This site even breaks it down the chemical makeup diagram. Maybe one here with more experience on the subject could read it over and tell me what you think.
I'm going to take them med free tomorrow. Going to eat 1g dry (PES Hawaiian) then see how I feel and if all is good eat another .5g. Then I can take a klodopin if needed before, during, or after.
EDIT:
Yeah, I was going to point it out but forgot. I picked off a segment of myc that was growing in the perlite and placed it there and forgot about it

Well it was originally my glove back but that was a pain so I did it in a sterile room open air and everything worked so I'm using that as my FC. Good idea though I'll get some tomorrow. Could I fill all the air holes with poly or would that restrict more air than help?
Since it just started to ping ~4-5 minis does tat mean it should be hauling ass pinning wise? I'm now heavy misting 6+ times a day after this new info and covering the pins while I mist in that area. God, I still can't get over that yummy smell. Could I use spent cakes to make tea?

how so, just mist around the pins. and like leperhead said he sprays his, i chose not to tho, just cuz thats the way i learned.
polyfil will allow more fae than those towells, and not harbor contaminants like those towells.
since youve already got the perlite, you might as well just spend a few $'s on a new rubbermaid and do the shotgun FC.
but theyre growin, so do your thing man, and its really anyones guess if theyll start to shoot off now.

I'm doing good man. Well, I was until I just spent 6k on a new A/C system. The one that came with the house didn't cut it. Damn thing ran all day in this Texas heat.
Other than that, I'm good. The wife and kid are in MI on vacation so I got the house all to myself. It is great, but I'm already starting to miss them.

yea about the arm holes, I'd just duct tape some plastic over them (or tyvek if you want it to breath). I would never do a shotgun tub, so I don't know exactly where your trying to go with it there. Frankly by a fluke of design my cake setup that I am going to begin using on shitake and portabellos because cakes fruit in a manner that could provide me with culinary delights constantly. Then I rely on monotubs for my more special culinary delights.

OK, so a shotgun FC is exactly what I have hole wise. Those large holes I mentioned earlier were originally for my arms.
I'll go get some poly today and fill those large holes with it. I didn't have a cordless drill within reach the day I made mine so I used a soldering iron.
I don't have much more capacity to hold to many more cakes as I still have a quite a few left to birth. It would hurt to wait a while or should I just make another FC either way will be easy.

since cakes are usually good for multiple flushes I suggest you go for it you'll need the space. but can I suggest branching out and perhaps crumbling your cakes into a monotub for experimentation? You can actually make some small doubletubs from tupperware believe it or not if you don't want a large size of tub.
