Ego, Id, & Super-ego

I was just wondering if anybody had some good online reads about the topic, or maybe an ebook. I've been reading a lot about ego loss, ego death, and thinking a lot about myself, and looking to do some introspective learning on my next trip. I wanted to gain a better understanding of these concepts first though.
EBook? or Website?

The ego in "ego death" is very different from the ego that Freud envisioned.
But anyhoo... If you have iTunes, search the iTunes store for Robert Harrison and look for the "Freud & Psychoanalysis" interview. (The download is free. Robert Harrison is a professor from Stanford and many of his interviews are on iTunes.) The interview is very informative about Freud and his theories.

I understand the ego in ego death is different from freud's envision. My goal is not to depend on the definition of others, but to gain a general understanding on what it is first, and draw my own conclusions. I feel my knowledge in these area's are lacking and require some... fine tuning...
Anybody have anything in a reading form rather than auditory?
Thanks for the info mushman, ill definitely check that otu.

I was on my break, so I didn't comment, but that link should go a ways in clearing things up.
I have some disagreement though. I don't see anything wrong with the Id. I think calling the Id nasty things is a basic lack of self respect. Freud's "ego" is the same ego in ego-death, and the Super-ego is God/higher consciousness/higher self/Christ/the intuitive mind/Love/Buddha nature/etc.

An interesting and (at least for a time) useful division of the psyche. I don't have anything that's particularly interesting on this topic that you could read or listen to, but as far as the concepts themselves go, I don't think they're referring to three categorically different things, but rather one thing divided into three levels, and this fundamental fact is too easily forgotten in some schools of Freudian psychology.

Yeah, I have 4 hits of LSD-25... like straight hofmann shit that my boy got... 2 hits had my friend who has been tripping for years... inc. RC's said it was the best of his life. I wanted to do a bit of research about this topic before Saturday when I shall indulge. I've been reading a lot about different things lately, and they are constantly on my mind, so I'm curious to see how that plays a factor into the whole experience. I've never had shit this good, I'm so excited. Taking it at my friends house who lives 2 blocks from the beach!!

I'd just get a few psychology textbooks from your local community college, or search around on Wikipedia.
