Smell that jar, and you will have your answer.
Better luck next time.

Sorry about the link, when I went to upload the pic it went up but when I hit continue the image wasn't showing up in the post, so only thing to do was post a link.
well there goes all my jars then(8 total). I don't get it I went NUTS sterilizing everything in site. the grow is in my closet, so I kinda figured I would be pretty safe against contams. Could it be that I'm incubating at too high of a temp? min in the box has been 72.7F max has been 83.8F I would say it's usually hanging around the 80-82 mark most days. oh and i did smell the one and it pretty much just smelt like WBS just with a sharper scent. Thanks for helping out a newbie grower guys, i've learned a lot from this site.

If you are sterilizing correctly the contamination is either introduced by poor sterile inoculation technique or from a contaminated spore syringe.
High incubation temps will hard mycelium but not trigger contamination.

What Im doing now, and not sure if its works (its kind of experimenting fighting) is to leave the jars with grain and water over the top for one day @25ºC, then wash it with fresh water, cook the grain for about 20-40 mins, let it dry via vapour and finally PC.
That way, u germinate the bacillus endospores and then u killed them in PC.
Sorry for my english man, and hope its usefull to you...

When you let the grain sit for 24 hours then simmer it for 20-40 minutes, you have to thoroughly rinse it and let it drain for another 24 hours! Those grains are going to be completely saturated to the point of bursting if they haven't already. They need to really be moist to the touch, not mushy or "wet". Then, and only then do you proceed to the pressure cooking step. Kind of like this......
Soak for 24 hours.. Simmer for 20 minutes.. rinse, rinse, rinse the simmered grain. get ready to drain... rinse, rinse, rinse some more.. cover and let drain for AT LEAST 24 HOURS. After 24 hours, load your jars... pressure cook at 15psi for 90 minutes. Inoculate the next day after all your jars have cooled. Then in two weeks your jars should at least look like this!
No Bacillus!

Wow shroomy, never have I seen it take so long for WBS to be prepared (2 days). But if you say it works, I will begin tonight! The test batch I just did I followed someone else's write up to see if it works. I soaked for about 8 hours then boiled some water, turned off stove and added the WBS and let steam with the lid on for an hour or so. Rinsed very well, drained for about 30 mins till no water was dripping out, and loaded them up. Only tested 2 jars so if it doesn't work out, no big loss.

Yea, I'm pretty much a patient person in this hobby. I work at least 11 hours a day, so the steps I take usually are in 24 hour increments. I have to sleep you know! I'm not saying that my way is "The" way, I'm just putting out something that has worked for me for a long time. There's times that I have the prepped jars sitting and waiting to be inoculated for 2 weeks and still they're good.

Thanks a lot for your tek shroomy!
I do have a question..... Could the bacillus endospores be on the jars waiting to be used? I mean when the jars are empty. Or just washing them with soap and bb bacillus?
Thanks a lot with the help ^^

It really doesn't matter if they are there or not. I always run my jars in the dishwasher right before I start loading them with grain. Either way, you're going to PC them. No worries.
