 login trouble/image troubles.

I couldn't log-in over the course of several hours today.
when I tried to log in the page timed out.(yeah I know, I should've taken a screen-cap).
the shroomery login link was the only link on the entire interwebs that gave me any trouble.
The image troubles are that I cannot see any Avatars(the mostly transparent "image: image is displayed for a breif moment, then disappears- leaving no avatar.), or shroomery hosted pics(sigs).
I have been through all of my settings and have browsed recent image related threads but cannot find/fix the problem.
