I live in a apartment and the mailboxes here have our names in the back of them for the mail carries to read and they will only put mail in the boxes if your name is on it. So that problem is solved. Also, I read that micropore tape can breath, so after I Inoculation I can still leave the tape on there or should I still remove it?

You can leave it there.  Also, go to a local store to get your stuff.  People seriously need to boycott walmart.  Shopping there condones their activities, and they're flat out criminal.

Hey guys i'm mixing the verm & brf and pc them tonight, the spores are coming in the morning, I noticed this, on the PF teks for simple minds it say to do the following:
Substrate preparation

For one ½ pint jar(~240 ml) you will need:
=> 140 ml vermiculite
=> 40 ml brown rice flour
=> some vermiculite to fill the jar to the top (app. 20 ml)
=> water

For 6 jars, this amounts to:
=> 3.5 US cups vermiculite
=> 1 US cup brown rice flour

if you do every jar individually the ratio to brf:verm is 1:3.5

but in the video on that site the guy says for 5 cakes you 2 cups of verm and 1 cup of brf. That is a ratio to 1:2 ???

what do you guys think?

Ya, I saw that at walmart but I didn't know if that was the right tape or not. I got some that is sort of like it, its adhesive waterproof tape, so it should work.

and as for the ratio to brf:verm I used 1:3.5 in my first 3 jars which I named A,B, & C. I don't know why I didn't do 1,2 & 3. lol. D & E i did a 1:2 ratio and my roomate did F. And G I just free styled it and didn't do any mesureing on anything, lol. I'm about to throw them all into the pressure cooker!

Having lower prices than EVERYONE else sounds like downright justice for the working man.

If you want a finer grade of verm, just use your coffee grinder on the coarse stuff.  Be absolutely sure not to breath the dust when you're done grinding!  (Wear a mask and do it outside.)  A few short bursts will go a long way in reducing the particle size of verm.

Shitmart sells cheap Chinese garbage.  Sounds like Chinese Capitalism to me.  How does this help the American working man?

That is too warm. Keep them between 70 - 78F

The mycelium produces heat by itself. That is why it should be 70-78F

Agreed. Leave the jars at room temp.  My buddy always leaves his around 73-75F room temp..  here is an example of some BRF/Verm at room temp @ 13 days:

No need for a fancy heater or any sort of heating device :smile:

Looking forward to hearing your progress!

Lol - sadly the temperature LOWS in my house are around 83 degrees. Even at night.
I haven't had any problems growing any mycelium though - in a shoebox in the dark grew just fine though, no problems.
9 days for full colonization of a 1/2 pint.

Full colonization after 9 days?

Wow. I'm really having trouble with mine. It's been a week now, and I don't see any white growth at all. The temp. is around 73 to 75 and I have them sitting in a dark box in the closet. I'm one of those super eager types who keeps taking them out and inspecting them like twice a day. Could that light be what's hindering the growth? Cause I followed one of the guide's here to the letter.

(Sorry to hijack your thread TC. Just wanted to ask a quick question and didn't want to start a new thread for a question probably asked 9 times a day.)
