Fluorescent Orange Mold?!

The other day in the kitchen I work in, me and the other cooks were discussing mold. He said awhile ago he cooked a pot roast in a Crockpot and placed it outside on his patio.
He said at first he forgot about the rotting meat, but after remembering about it, he wanted to see how it would rot...(don't as me why)
After 6 months he said their was FLUORESCENT ORANGE MOLD!!!! He said he was scared to get around it, so he got one of his buddies to chuck it in a dumpster a good 300 yards away.
After tossing the fungi infested meat, he said his entire block hand the stench of a rotting cadaver for entire week.
As an amateur mycologist, I was very interested in this, as it sounded very dangerous, because I've seen the purple mold in the contam. forum which can give you spinal meningitis.
Anyone know about this crazy stuff?
EDIT: After doing a google search I found a hit on orange mold....I wonder if this was what it was, and the odor was merely the meat.

Doubtfully it was that particular type of mold. As that article stated, it was a wood loving mold. Meat lends itself to bacteria due to it's high protein content. Bacteria would colonize it first before mold would even get a foot hold. And yes, the decaying meat would let off a horrendous smell as the bacteria consumed the meat.

He honestly believed it was mold...
So I dunno. But what you are saying seems to make a lot more sense.
