Schizophyllum commune contamination

There seems to be a small surge in reports of this easily identified contaminate in cubensis grows. If I missed any or if new ones appear, please add to this post.
Recent posts with Schizophyllum commune contamination.
Ban Hau Thanon 6/19/07 Secondary report of possibly Penis Envy and KSSS also contaminated.

Penis Envy 7/1/07

Chinese cubensis 4/13/07

Unnamed cubensis 6/24/07

Since none of the posts above specify where the syringes were purchased, it is difficult to know if the problems are related.
A good page with details about this species. http://botit.botany.wisc.edu/toms_fungi/feb2000.html

Hahaha, crazy!!
Looks like the most widespread mushroom on earth has found a new host! First it's gotta take its toll on the aids patients and their lungs, and now it's gonna wreak havoc on poor shroomerites and their grows!

unnamed cubensis 7/5/07
]
A conversation with the poster explains that this is not related to any of the other more recent outbreaks as it was generated from material purchased over a year ago. Strain is Hawaiian.

After my contamination with the Ben Hua Thanons I inoculated 9 brf jars with PE and six with KSS. So far it appears that I have 2 of each contaminated with Schizophyllum commune.

Hawaiian 8/8/07

I wasn't able to find a common source for any of these infections. Although some of the contaminated grows were from vendor spores, many were from homemade prints. I am at a loss to explain why there are so many reports this year but at this time it doesn't seem to be confined to any particular vendor. Perhaps there is just a high environmental spore load of this species due to ideal weather conditions.

Yeah, it is very unusual. I am a bit surprised that it was not one vendor. Good work collecting the data.

6/22/08 unnamed strain

Contrast increased to show detail.
This may be a seasonal contaminate as reports seem to be occuring mostly June-August.
