don't case your substrate with dung. it should be used as a substrate it's self. caseing are free of any nutrients, so contam's do not grow and damage your culture.

If you use dung as a casing layer, you might run into contamination problems. But, if you keep everything clean and use some lime(calcium carbonate) mixed with the dung, you should be all right. Remember, the trick to avoiding getting the dung contaminated is to get it colonized as quick as possible. You only have about 5-7 days to get the dung colonized, using the method your planning to use, or contams will start to set in.
Pressure cooking should be fine, and you must use the dung you pressure cooked as soon as it cool down.
PASTURIZING - does not mean putting the dung in the oven. To pasteurize something, you place it in hot water (just below boiling) and let set for 1-2 hours.

thanks for the words of wisdom guys.i did some reserch and i've decided to build one of those pasturizers out of a styrofoam cooler,as well as some straw+dung teks/formulas.i'm thinking this is gonna be a whole different ball game than the one i've been playng(cakes/casings).

Been real busy, and afk for a long time...yes you want to not sterilize dung, dung mushrooms such as our cubies have symbiotic relationships with a lot of bacteria and virus' in that the metabolic exudes of said organisms have been shown to stimulate pinning and/or mycelial growth rates; something wood lovers are lacking in...
