 How do Dealers make money?

if this isnt an appropriate topic, sorry, just tell me ill edit it.
My dealer gets a pound, (16 oz.) for $1440.
thats $90/oz.
he sells for $100/oz.
he also has a 08 corvette, 08 malibu, 07 chevy, and only smokes purp ($20/g) about 6 blunts a day-$140 a day.
he sells all his stuff himself, all day long, no job. am i missing something or how does he profit enough to live upper middle class dealing like that?

He either pays less per pound or he is selling an aweful lot of weed.
Is he also selling 1/8 or 1/4?
You usually sell those for more than the straight up ounce price so you make more.
Not that I would know any of this but its a good guess.

they buy it wheres its cheap n sell it where its expensive...
I have a friend who can get a p for 1000. midgrad. zips go for 150 around here on average so do the math... 16 o's at 150 a piece comes to 2400.
a 1400 dollar profit just selling it as o's...
I dont want to deal though its not worth it.

every now an then hell sell dubs, but mostly halfs and oz. sacks.
plus when we chill at his house hes always like pushin shit in my face, i feel bad but i probably take a half a week for free, and he buys my liquor like every weekend. its a weird relationship me an my friends have with him, were teens, hes 28.

I'd say most dealers who make a NICE profit wont tell you the truth when you ask what they pay... they are making too much money off you and know that when you start to tell people the truth, they ALWAYS want the price lowered. people always push their boundaries... so hes probably lying about what he said he gets a pound for

I agree with the first part... but generally, the closer to the source, the less you pay... so if a dealer is getting a really good deal, he probably knows the grower... and this is a good reason why he wouldn't want to talk about it.

Ok everyone seems to think he's lieing to me, he isnt. ive ridden with him to pick this shit up, and yes he does deal some beans syrup occasionally, but mainly bud all day every day.

Pounds of regular are usually 650-800 even cheaper the closer you are to the border.
1440 is way to much.

A dealer I knew made a ton of cash and I always wondered how he did it. He lived frugally, he had temperance with his money, he didn't spend his money on cool stuff every chance he got.
I'm finding out you gotta be somewhat comitted to save money. I make a horrible salesman because I'm too nice to good people and I hook em up.

I would stay away from the dude. You describe him hanging out with teenagers, taking you along when he visits his own dealer and buying you liquor. Sounds like a fucking idiot that failed "drug dealing 101" class and is bound to get busted soon. If he's being watched and you're hanging out with him... I don't need to tell you how the story goes.

He may not be pushing only trees. In my experience most people who push pounds of trees at a time aren't just pushing trees.
Especially since he seems to smoke, which automatically means he's taking a hit on profits.

If he's 28 and you're a teenager, he knows better than to tell you everything he does. And he's deffinately not paying that much per pound. Any 28 year old that's been doing this a while has better hook ups than that. You don't need to know all about his business, and he doesn't want to tell you. At least that's how it should go.
I remember when i went to my dealer he said he got it for about 1450, and now that i've known him for a few months and been a good friend to him he's told me that he gets it for 900 usually.
And then theres the chance that he sells blow every now and then, because that's about 5 times more profitable than selling weed on average.
