Punishing officers for false arrest with civil action

I am currently facing charges on what is a ridiculous case, My lawyer states test runs on potential jurors all say "what a joke, what a waste of time" and he feels the case is extremely ludicrous.
Furthermore, there are witnesses to the police entering our home without permission, giving me the incorrect name and arresting me without probable cause, something that will come up at trial, making the case all the more asinine.
Can I start putting the screws to the particular deputies in question and file a suit against them for false arrest?
I want to put the screws to them, this crap has gone on long enough for something I clearly never should have been arrested for.

There is nothing stopping me from filing a suit,
everything in the affidavit and report is suppresible. it cannot be used against me at trial.
Unfortunately their corrupt actions have led me to have to fend for myself unjustly, and I think they need to realize that.

There are lawyers that will gobble this up. Asking a bunch of guys "like us" is nothing but useless second-hand speculation at best. Get a lawyer- for a case like this don't worry about money, as there are many that will offer their services for free and will only get paid a portion of the settlement. So look around for a lawyer that will represent and only accept payment for a winning verdict... I see commercials about this like 3 times a day...
Ahh, and please keep us updated. This is good info for us to have without going through the actual "experience"
And good luck friend.

I am well aware that getting a lawyer would be needed.
However, I am looking for someone who has maybe heard of or gone through this, I.E. Fear of retaliation given present ridiculous charges and D.A. Misconduct.

I'll guarantee you a couple thins regarding this action, first, any lawyer you obtain will be expensive, more so than normal because he'll have a difficult time getting work in the county over the duration of the action, that could be years.
second, expect an assload more harassment from other cops

I assume lawyers specialize in this, I.E. They would not simultaneously be criminal law lawyers.
I have an amazing lawyer for my case right now. He was a former prosecuter and realizes the ridiculous nature of this case and that D.A's do not like to take a weak case to trial and crash and burn.
He is appalled that they have not even given an offer, and are attempting to whitewash what amounts to a ridiculous charge by making said ridiculous charge scary and expensive for me.
I can't even imagine why they would even want to go this far on someone who has no criminal record on a case that has no logic or merit.
No evidence supports that the crime I am being charged with has been commited, they have gone to the point of using sheer scare tactics to make this rational.

I want to hear more of the story.. Why did they bust into your home and why did they arrest you? Even if it was a mistake there must have been some kind of reasoning on their behalf at the time.

Her eyes... she's.. staring.. at... me. If it's not too personal, elaborate on what exactly happened.. this sounds pretty weird. Maybe your lawyer can refer you to someone for a free consultation. I mean, most lawyers will at least give you a free consultation... That's how they harvest the choicest cases/payouts.

If you file a civil suit against officers or a department, the first thing you need to do is move away from your area, and your best bet is to live with a girl at her place and do not have anything put with that address, including any bills, drivers license, nothing can tie your name to that address where you'll be living.
Good luck.

This may seem unrelated but...
I have a close relative who owns a few apartment buildings. Some bad shit went down in one of them...A young father strangled his girlfriend to death and took off with the baby. The cops eventually got him, but when they were investigating the apartment they left the windows wide open in the dead of winter. The elements got in and did a whole bunch of damage to the apartment. Relative had a few words with one of the officers, but when he went to his lawyer (who is also a good friend) he was advised that it would be NOT worth the money to pursue the matter.
It's fucked up, I know, but that seems to be how it is.
