 Can apparently healthy cakes and mushrooms be contaminated?

Ive just completed my third grow- nepal cubensis in a pmp using geolite. It seemed like my most successful yet- all cakes produced beautifully even flushes of perfect looking mushrooms. Both times I have eaten them I have had intense nausea, which Ive not had before. This has happenned eating them both wet and dry and in tea. I am wondering- if the cakes were contaminated surely there would be an odour or mould spots or something but they appear healthy. As I said, the shrooms themselves also look great.
So, is it possible for cakes and mushrooms to appear perfectly healthy, yet still harbour a contaminant which will make you ill when you eat them?

They aren't contaminated.

I always get nauseous when the onset of the "experience" come on. Especially when I've taken a large dose, or they are especially stronger than normal. Small amounts not so much. So I equate the amount of nausea to the amount of dose or strength of given specimen.

Some people always get sick from shrooms, other never do. It's normal.
