 My cacti got stolen

So i just moved to NC, meet some people, showed some people my cacti...all my cacti got chopped down in the night,,,
I cant get over it,,,its so terrible ive been growing them for 2years now...aBOUT 3-5 foot of pedro,,peru,and bridgessi al gone,,even the cactus my girl bought me..they left the roots though so they will grow back in a few years,,,
I know who did it,,i think i just dont know if i should retaliate,.,.,sorry this is the wrong forum i just did't want the delinquents in the other forums to tear this thread apart.. 
I need words of wisdom...

just confront the people who did it in a mature manner, dont blow up at them this could further complicate the matter.

I already blew up on one of them,,Then i thought some one else did it then,,but now im sure it was him and another guy,,
the thing is i never showed them were the were,,he just new i had them..he was very interested in coming over the night before but it was one in the morning so i said tomorrow the next day they were gone..Im gonna try and find him tomorrow,,mabey just go over to his house and confront him

just tell each one i know you did it then see how they react maybe youll be able too tell which one by the reaction. That sux man i cant stand people who disrespect wonderful things.

The problem is once you confront them. What to do next without going to jail. That would be a dilemma for me and a reason i don't share my garden with others except by forum pics.
You can confront them and do whatever you like next but at best you get your cuttings back. The problem is the damage is already done. I'd feel horrible. Thats one of the reasons it's so easy to hate humanity so much. People you call your friends think nothing of stabbing you right in the back.

Keep yer Eyes open. If by some Miracle you get a chance to get your shit back of make things even - go for it.

I live with my gf parents,,they wont even let me keep the porch lights on,,im just gonna move..

Karma is nice, but justice is better and security cameras facilitate it.
I put my myrtillos out on the front porch and they were lifted. I think someone thought they were Pedros even though they were clearly labeled "Myrtillocactus geometrizans". That, or they just wanted some myrtillos.

bring tape recorder, and after go to the police and get them arrested for trespassing and theft. i am no fan of police, but to me theft is one of the lowest things a person can stoop to.
if your house is clean, send the pigs after em. and get proof first.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
I second the suggestion about involving the police. That was trespass and theft, so you should handle it like one. Even if the police don't wind up doing anything for real, at least you'll have given them a good scare and hopefully that deter them from messing with you in the future.
No use making the situation worse on yourself by retaliating and getting in trouble.
If it all works out and they haven't consumed your cacti or anything, at least you're going to have double the amount of cactus when the stumps pup and the cuttings are re-rooted.

Haha, that is a brilliant idea. Im sure there some very very fun plants out there in that sense
