just a ploy to keep us from watching Affliction: Banned, which is the best HW card ever shown. Silva is one of my favorite figters, but i have to see Tim Sylvia get murdered by Fedor.

Yeah that's not anywhere near an interesting enough fight to draw many people away from the Affliction event besides maybe UFC nuthuggers or something. I bet they'll pull another couple of high profile matches out their ass in the next few weeks for that event and then we might have a night full of good fights.
I don't really see the point of this fight even. If Anderson wins so what, he was fighting James Irvin. If Irvin wins all hell breaks loose.

only thing is, the UFC event is free, which will pull a lot of people away from paying $40 for a PPV fight. I really dont understand the James Irvin thing, either. if they're getting him to fight a LHW bout, why not make it a legendary fight since its such a stacked division? i would've given up Affliction to watch Anderson tool Chuck or somebody of importance. this fight will not even be remotely close, just another high-light reel KO for Silva.

Oh yeah people pay for PPV's still. I'd have gone broke long ago if I hadn't found places that stream live events.
They definitely should get Silva to fight somebody better or spring another huge match on us before then.

oh, me too, i dont actually pay for fights, i watch them at Twin Peaks for free. problem is, they are more likely to show the free UFC event to save themselves money and attract a larger crowd of casual fans to come get drunk and boo the TV every time the fight goes to the ground, then they are to show an Affliction event.
i will find a way to see this fight though. they got the entire HW division minus Big Nog and Randy, its fuckin crazy.
