Does anyone know a website where they have practice java programs I could write up? I am on break from school (summer) but I was wondering if there were any practice-type programs that I could work on while I am out of school.

you can code the solutions right on the page, test them, and it will even show you other ways to solve the problems. I do it at work when I'm bored here lately...

Might try the ACM programming contest problems...

Not really Java specific, but they are good for practicing operations research type problems.

Well the way I see it is, if you want to learn to program then you probably want to be able to write programs. So think of a program that you want to write and then just try to get as far as possible. Then when you hit a brick wall start learning what you need to learn. Most programming concepts are exactly the same regardless of what language you use.
