Beer and mushroom recipes ?

I've got 25 gallons of homemade beer in my basement on the unfinished side of it : 5 gallons of 5 different types (pumpkin spice, hefeweizen, raspberry honey, holiday bock , Irish red) and I'm a light drinker on top of it . I apparently enjoy brewing even more than I enjoy drinking it Here's a pic of 15 gallons fermenting .

Anyhow , with so much beer I thought I should find uses for it besides drinking. Anyone have any good beer or beer and mushroom recipes they wanna share

I do almost all of my cooking with beer. I've even had mushroom beer, but it was nasty. There's a microbrewery in Seattle that brews up a batch of Chanterelle beer every fall when they're in season. It's a waste of both the beer and the mushrooms, imo. RR

Ah, brewing is even more addicting than growing mushrooms. Sorry, haven't found a good compromise of the two hobbies yet.
Is that a better bottle I see? How do you like that? WANT

Beer and cheddar soup is good with a lot of pan fried mushrooms thrown into the soup.

Yep , I've got 2 Better Bottles with the built in spigots , a couple 6.5 gallon glass carboys , a stainless conical , some fermenting buckets and a bucket with built in drum tap. The glass carboys and the stainless conical are the prettiest to look at , and the bucket with the built in spigot is the easiest of all of them to use.
The Better Bottles are a nice compromise of east of use while still being able to watch the fermenting process which is enjoyable. They are much lighter than the HEAVY glass carboys and I got them because I was sick of siphoning but I still wanted to watch the fermenting process . They are easier to clean than the glass carboys but not nearly as easy as the buckets . It isn't pretty, but as far as a no frills easiest to use , easiest to clean fermenter goes this one is still my favorite :
Back on topic , whoever mentioned a beer and cheddar cheese soup that sounds awesome ! Anyone have any good beer batter recipes for frying onion rings and such ?

Damn, old thread! Here's a recipe I have:
3 large chicken breasts 4-6 oz mushrooms (I use criminis) 1 med onion 1 head (that's right ) garlic 2 8oz cans cream of mushroom soup 2 tbsp olive oil 16 oz (approx) beer 2 lbs egg noodles parmesan cheese salt and pepper to taste
In a large pot heat olive oil, then add diced chicken breasts. when slightly brown, add onion and garlic (diced as well). when onions turn clear, add diced mushrooms. cook until chicken is nearly done, then add cream of mushroom soup and beer. mix well then simmer slow for 30-45 minutes. prepare pasta per directions, then drain and add to mixture. add salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese (I use a lot of parm). remove from heat and stir well. Invite a few friends and enjoy with some beer you used in the recipe. Enjoy!
