Agaricus bisporus growing parameters

Hi, can anyone give me an outline of the growing parameters of the white button mushroom Agaricus bisporus, or any links to decent grow guides.
After failing to clone from shop bought specimens, I bought one of those ready-to-go type kits that I want to grow out of get some prints and live tissue from. Then I can grow them from scratch.
On the instructions that were with it it said to keep them in a dark, humid place out of draughts. I wish to know why darkness is necessary and if the what the purpose of keeping them out of draughts is?
Thanks for any help.

There's a good link to some info from Penn State at the end of this thread http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/6976730#6976730.
Keeping them out of light is not necessary as far as I know, but keeping them out of draughts would keep them from drying.
