 Hair test tomorrow

Ok been clean for about 2 years, no pot or anything. Last saturday on a whim I decided to smoke a bowl with a friend. Only took 1 hit, I was wasted from having no tolerance.
Go figure, 2 years of being clean and only the occasional piss test, and today they announce we are having company wide hair tests tomorrow. It was the worst feeling ever, realizing my dumb ass decided to smoke a little pot--which I don't even enjoy...especially to jeopardize a job like this.
This is a good job and I'm pretty concerned. I am the last person people would expect to fail a drug test, friends and family alike. Since I have so little built up in my system am I OK? It will be the 4 day mark when they take the hair sample since I smoked (last saturday).

if you only took one hit, you're probably ok.. but if not, you can try the vinegar and tide method (something like that, its been posted here before.)

Depends on where they take the sample from...
If they take it from your scalp, you're pretty much screwed, since that hair grows faster than any other hair follicle on your body. However, 4 days...you may be safe.
I'd shave my head and make them take an eyebrow/chest hair sample, just to be on the safe side.

go swimming.
The chlorine will damage and strip your hair enough to pass. That or dying the color of your hair are probably your best chance.

i think you'll probably be ok since you just recently smoked it, and hair takes a bit to grow. you also didn't smoke much at all.
however, swimming in chlorine does seem like pretty solid advice.
just play it cool, and if worse comes to worse and you test positive for a little bit of weed, just explain what happened man to man, they will probably understand and cut you some slack since you're a good worker.

THIS IS FACT: You have nothing to worry about. These tests are meant to identify habitual users. They will NOT give a positive for a one time drug use. Hair tests generally detect THC metabolites at 1.00 picograms per milligram of hair. Additionally, if it is only a matter of a few days, the tell-tale hair will not even be above the scalp yet.
How soon after use can a drug be detected in hair?
It takes approximately 4-5 days from the time of drug use for the affected hair to grow above the scalp. Body hair growth rates are generally slower and cannot be utilized to determine a timeframe of drug use.
How fast does head hair grow?
Studies indicate that head hair grows on average of 0.5 inches (1.3cm) per month. This growth rate varies slightly (estimated at ± 0.2 cm per month), consequently there is some (± 1 week) time variation possible. Head and body hair do not grow at the same rate; body hair grows at a slower rate.

you should shave YOUR ENTIRE BODY!!! go in naked and taunt the person taking the samples. bet them a million dollars they can't find a sample anywhere on you, then bend over and show them your taint.

<--OP here. I passed the hair test. Except for the person that posted some useful info about test times, most of the advice in this thread was complete crap. This should be called OTD-Anon.

Be careful about this. In some jurisdictions if the examiner can't get a sample for any reason (including a shaved head) the test is failed by default. The burden for them to get a testable sample is on you in some cases.
By the way, I doubt you will test positive on a hair test in only four days. My guess is that the part of the hair that contains the metabolites hasn't even grown past the skin yet.
Edit: oops, nevermind. Should have read the bottom of the thread before posting.

It's not a statute. It's whatever the employer's policy says.
If you're applying to work for me and my policy is that I don't hire anyone who can't be tested for lack of enough hair, you're out of luck and there's nothing you can do about it.
