Religious vs. Spiritual
    #8444005 - 05/25/08 03:11 PM (4 years, 3 days ago)

Religious people are afraid of going to hell.

Spiritual people have been through hell.

Peace,
Droz

Religious people look to find faith in something by means of prescribed doctrine to be led when they are lost.

Spiritual people have been lost to the point of finding a means to connect with the higher power, and as such, write their own doctrine.

They are not always exclusive of each other, and merging occurs often.

The main drawback I feel from "Religion" as in "Organised" is the seeming rigidity of concept.
Spirituality, not exactly to definition, but my own understanding seems more natural.

I mostly find myself picking and choosing this part or that, amongst the current flow of belief to the archaic or the purely imagined, self visualised...when idea makes some neural/emotional or otherwise unexplainable connection.

Is that it though?

Rules vs non-rules - order vs chaos.

People are spiritual beings.

Some of us are also, religious.

.....................is that to be spiritual?

A DnD game?

Religion is best which eats itself at the end.

Spirituality is conceited materiality.

'spirituality is silly...Reality is what it's about.'

The reality of spirituality is what's needed.

I agree

More people need to have more of an open mind.  You can believe in whatever you want but shouldn't believe those "forces" are bias and selfishly believe they're 100% on your side.  Technically, they are on your side, but to not understand or view this collective, as a whole, is where there seems to be a loss in translation.

Again, people... in general we are ALL spiritual beings.

We, as humans have the capacity to believe in things we can't see, hold, hear or otherwise tangibly sense. For example, humans have the ability to imagine... and every imagined thing is a spiritual thing... until we use our CREATivity to make that imagined thing into reality.

So...

All humans are spiritual... unless they are severely brain damaged or dead.

Religious people on the other hand (and listen carefully folks 'cause a LOT of you don't seem to get this point) simply believe in a RELIGION.

That is all there is to it.

To review:

All humans are spiritual. We all have the capacity to believe in things that are not yet there. THIS post was spiritual until I typed it and posted it.

People who are RELIGIOus... are people who believe in a RELIGIOn.

Sure, there have been some cute bumper stickers posted in here... but they are all full of shit.
