Your Arsenal For Good Skin? - Acne, Scars, etc...

Well I was blessed with "good" skin. It is soft and firm, and I tan very easily. I never have experienced dryness or rashes.
However, during my adolescence I got plenty of acne on my back (bacne) that has left it fairly scarred. Now, I no longer get any acne on my back except for one or two pimples at a time that I could care less about.
The problem is - my back pretty much looks like a ex-war zone.
Another issue that I have is that I have few scars on my front right shoulder from an infection I got recently. It bubbled up, I went to the doc and got the treatment.
So now I am left with a scarry back and right front shoulder. It looks a little messy.
I have been putting on polysporin and sometimes vitamin E on my shoulder, but I haven't even touched my back.
Now, for my question:
Do any of you know of or have a great aresnal of creams and ointments to dimish scars resulting from scratches, acne, and infections?
One of my friends told me that vitamin E is the answer.
I will also add that I got some pretty bad stretch marks on my shoulders from blowing up a few years ago. I started putting St. Ives Cocoa Butter when they started to become very pronounced and red. They faded like a charm and I usually forget that I even have them. I don't mind my stretch marks atall.
But now having all these scars, I feel like I should atleast completely rid myself of the non-stretch marks, because we all know stretch marks aren't really going anywhere. I want to do the best I can to clean my torso up.
Any tips? Should I just go to the dermatologist?

you could try a combination of hard exfoliation(to the point of being tender) and then applications of cocoa butter and/or coconut oil, im sure there are tons of other oils and botanicals you could put on it to help rejuvinate the skin. outside of light acid stripping im not aware of any other method, obviously the acid stripping is quicker, but also costs alot and im sure isnt that great for your skin, rough exfoliation with something like a pumice stone and then applications of rejuvinators on a regular basis would take alot longer, but it would naturally correct the scars over time, and would no doubtedly be more healthy for you.
i use this method on a couple scars i have and they have definately shrunk significantly since i started doing this, however, it has taken 2-3 years to do so. so i guess its all about how long youre willing to wait.
vitamin E is definately a good skin ointment.
some others to look into:
manuka honey everlasting oil rosehip seed oil sage and lavender oil
have a read.

Abstaining from eating dairy products will keep MOST of the acne away. Olive oil, drinking and rubbing it on skin helps alot. Teatree oil, pinetar soap, maybe a good ayurvedic soap too.

in many cases just avoiding sugar based foods such as candy and soda are enough. i had terrible acne until i decided to turn my life around and eat and live healthy. it wasnt but a couple months after i cut fast food, candy and soda out of my life that my acne cleared up. i was so pissed off when it did too...... because i endured terrible acne for about 10 years before i realized a simple little change could fix it all.

I take detox baths. I get some really hot water and add 2 cups epsom salt (or sea salt, its good to switch it up but I mostly use epsom), 1-2 cups apple cider vinegar, a couple drops of some essential oils (eucalyptus or lavender) and a couple tablespoons of tea tree oil. This bath will open the pores, expel toxins through sweat, increase circulation to the skin and alkalize the skin. Try soaking for at least 20 mins, but the longer the better. I don't think this would be particularly helpful with scars, but it makes the skin silky smooth and gives it a nice glow. Don't forget to exfoliate at the beginning of the soak. The less dead skin on the surface the more effective the bath will be.

its been forever since ive taken a bath. the only bathtub we have right now holds the catbox lol. i used to love me some epsom salts baths though. try grating a whole rhizome of ginger into the bath too. that will open your ass up! and make you smell good too.
