 Clif Bars

man, these things are actually freakin good.
I grabbed one after working out the other day and I've had a couple since... I've had other protein/energy bars, and they all seemed to be like... inedible "protein" middle surrounded by a small layer of bad sugar-free chocolate. Seriously, I felt like I was chewing FOREVER on that protein shit... and it felt like lead in my stomach.
Clif Bars... these have a nice consistency, kinda like a no-bake cookie, and they taste decent. I mean, they wouldn't make it too far in the candy bar world, but as far as protein bars go, these are the best.
Plus they're made with organic ingredients.
My fave is chocolate and peanut butter crunch.
Wal-mart has them on sale too, for 0.98/each. I just paid 1.49 at a gas station b/c I didn't want to drive all the way out to a walmart.
I wonder if I can buy them online in bulk...

Yeah you can buy em online, amazon has them cheap. They are pretty good though, and much better for you than most bars.
The normal clif bars are like 70% organic and the protein ones are like 30% organic though.

I really, really hate the texture of milk and milk-like products. I also loathe the texture of those like Dannon pre-made "smoothies" (you know in the yogurt section) and "shakes" like slim fast.
I like real smoothies and shakes, but I just can't take the texture of those knock offs. It's like... cold vomit. *shudder*
I see people buying Muscle Milk all the time... but it's ridiculously expensive and I would probably dry heave if I tried to drink it.

Meh, I don't drink muscle milk but drink other protein shakes all the time. I can't gain any weight at all when working out if I don't drink them and eat 5-6 times a day.

I add a scoop of vanilla whey protein to my morning smoothie.
It helps give it substance so I'm not raving famished 2 hours later.
I swear, this recipe makes the BEST smoothies:
6 oz Naked Juice- Pomegranate Acai or Pomegranate Blueberry tastes the best
1 scoop vanilla whey protein
1 oz "5 hour energy" shot (which is half the little bottle it comes in)
blend all that fist, otherwise the protein mix won't get homogenized and the smoothie will be grainy
then add
1 small handful frozen "berry medley" (blueberries, raspberries, black berries)
3 whole frozen strawberries
3-4 chunks frozen pineapple (I like to buy pineapples fresh and cut them up and freeze them, cheaper)
then blend that.
The key is to use frozen fruit so you don't have to use ice as a filler and water it down.
I have a "magic bullet" and this fills one of those cups perfectly.
I'm amazed at how much money people blow at smoothie king and jamba juice... Those smoothies are expensive and those places use unfrozen fruit and ice, so they're watered down.

I always get a 24 pack of those cliff bars for like 16 dollars at sams club. they're gone in 2 days w/ friends over
