I Need to Pretend I Know Something About Mixing...

I'm considering applying for a relatively simple DJ/mixing job, however, I know absolutely nothing about mixing. It's at a strip club, so it'd basically just be playing some stripper's song after another and fading inbetween each other--my friend, who suggested the job, said it's pretty simple: a computer that I look the song up and then fade it in/out while introducing the stripper on the mic.
Anyway, my point is, I'd like to know SOMETHING about mixing before I go in there. Anyone have any good articles, walkthroughs, howtos, etc on simple/general mixing? Or maybe even just some words of advice or something, I'm pretty nervous.

you can download atomix i think its called free. its a mp3 pc mixer program.
http://www.atomixmp3.com/ (you can download the whole program with all plugins and skins on utorrent some where)
it will give you a feel for mixing and djing.
im sure you wont even need to mix music just be playing cds all night
i been to strip clubs and never seen them mix music just play song after song.

Enjoyment only means the negligence of practice.
You dont really know how much freedom you have, till you risk yours

sounds to me like the job you're talking about woulnt be 'mixing', more just like point and click to change songs. it should be pretty simple

Any idea what songs you're going to play? Songs that might sound like they would work now don't always work on the battlefield.
That would be fun DJing a strip club. I would feel like I was in control of the strippers with the music.

if you dont mind me asking, how much does this job pay? i actually am a turntablist myself... sounds like they dont really require much, just show up to work an hour early and practice, you will get the hang of it pretty quickly if all you have to do is fade between songs

I really have no idea how much it pays, but my friend said that the strippers tip you well (he said $500 a night, but that seems unbelievable....seriously!?)
I'd say go for it if you don't mind working in a strip club
