 WTF! TOOTH ACHES!!!!!!!!

I have a small hole in my farthest back tooth. A filling came out some time back and it never really bother me much. Well tonight that all changed. I was eating a salad and WHAMO! Felt like electric shocks across the right side of my face. Then it started, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, the pain is extremely intense. Can't lay down, can't think straight.....contemplated using a pair of pliers and doing it myself.
There is no such thing as on call dentists here (3am) and it's a good 6 hours before they open. So I went to the ER, they shot me up with Tramadol? I think that was the name. Non narcotic so, who knows how long that will last.
I feel okay. Currently I have a gallon of GIN and some spritzer type drinks with tom collins mix. I also have some various orajels and what not.
I have to tough it out for a few more hours and then it's off to get this bastard yanked. .....ugh, I hate the dentist.
Going to get a little toasty before that happens though.
Pray for me. Please.

sorry man that sucks! i hope everything goes well for you! same thing happend to me a couple of months ago and i went to the er as well! but we have a 24 hour dent. around here that is expensive as fuck, but worth it if you ask me. hope you can get that tooth taken care of soon! will do some praying for you! kat

Thank you man, thanks for your kind words. I just back from the Dentists that are now open and got it pulled. That, after a trip to the ER, they shot me up with TRAMADOL but that only lasted so long.
Now it's GIN and Gatorade to ease my pain.......ugh, I am SO very glad thats over.

You didn't get any PKs?
If I just have a toothache, I get 20 hydrocodones with one phone call.

I got a script for pain meds and antibiotics, but I probably won't fill them.

I had the exact same thing happen to me!
I had a filling that had came out a while back and I didn't really think much of it... until one day the worst pain ever engulfed that entire side of my face, up to my ears and down my neck.
It was REALLY BAD. Since I didn't have dental insurance at the time, I had to go to the freakin free Indian Clinic... I couldn't be seen the first night I went there, so I went to my parents where my mom gave me two demerols and they didn't even TOUCH the pain. I ended up taking two more, still no relief, so I laid on their couch shivering with pain and whimpering until the next morning... where we left really early and I was the first in line at the clinic.
When they took me back I was like "Please, before you take XRays, just shoot me up with Novocaine, I can't take this pain..." the nurse kinda chuckled and said "oh, it'll just be a few minutes, now open up... OH... uhm, let me get the shots prepared..."
Turns out I had an exposed nerve. I swear as soon as that Novocaine took effect it was the biggest relief in my life.
It took 5 injections to completely numb the pain... they had to do two in front and two behind the tooth... then one in my cheek.
They had to extract the tooth, which wasn't that big of a deal since it was in the very back.

You should fill the antibiotics just to completely avoid any complications.
