ok, so i discovered that if you put some water in your mouth, then inhale from a pipe steadily, while tilting your head down towards the floor, it bubbles and filters like a bong, and seems to work pretty well also.
the only downside is that the water in your mouth will taste like bong water if you try to swallow it, so just spit it out.
not a bong replacement, just an idea if your out with a joint and a bottle of water.

Pros: Possibly cooler smoke and not having to spend money on a bong.
Cons: Holding bong water in your mouth while looking like an idiot with your head tilted down to the floor.
I can see where you're coming from, but a pure joint by itself is just infinitely preferable.

another trick i used to use when i smoked is to chew up a mouthful of ice cubes and hold the crushed mouthful of ice in your mouth while you smoke.

this idea is lucrative. But you should use ether to hide the taste of bong water. Or use turpentine, that'll enhance the aroma if you're just smoking pure cannabis.

Man, I thought for sure this thread would be about the mis-application of a bong mouthpiece.
I was ready to come in here being all, "Your mouth goes in the bong, not the other way around!"
First time my girlfriend hit a bong, I chalked it for her, because she didn't know what she was doing... but apparently she hadn't been observing the rest of us taking hits, because she tried to fit her mouth AROUND the neck instead of inside.
It was a funny sight. Slightly arousing.
