when i smoke shortly before going to sleep i seem to "remember" dreams more often. eating cheese before bed seems to do the same thing....but eating cheese is usually related to smoking before bed
I am the same way, it never worked for me either even in huge doses. But give me a 100mg of Amyltriptiline and Im out for 24 hours...

If I smoke heavily for a long period then quit abruptly I have a lot of intense dreams.

but meletonin really works well as a sleep aid, it doesnt force you to sleep but it makes getting to sleep a lot easier
yeah, after about an hour and a half i just feel really tired and want to go to sleep, but i could resist it if i wanted to.

i used to get racing thoughts/cevs that made it hard to sleep on weed so i usually opt for bullshitting til im overtired
now THATS how you sleep
but if i go to sleep/wake up at a weird hour dreaming comes easy i smoked prolly a week ago and the last too days ive had some vivid shit, i shook hands a friend that's comatose, he came up to me and gave me a pound but didnt make any eye contact and just walked away, cried my fuckin eyes out, head down in the dream in the dream. he was driving a humvee when he passed out and the thing flipped, another guy od'd on those fuckin zanis and oxy theyre both knocked out
times like this i see 111 on a clock and make a wish for them
this mourn tho i woke up with a rock song in my head i recreated the steps on guitar(not in my other post, really punky actually) but the keynboard was sick, i was looking at an album and the songs would play as i looked at em' some good shit whoever that was

Is there any evidence to prove that a higher dose gives more dreams?
sorry to be such a stickler,,, but theres not much known about melatonin is there? I mean how safe it is.... and what dose differences are?

I have yet to use the knowledge i learn on this site...

I have noticed that once I started smoking so often, I either didn't dream as much or just couldn't remember my dreams.

Thank god smoking inhibits dreams. I'm sick of being chased, killed, tortured, and tormented by nightmares every damn night. If it's not aliens abducting me, it's dinosaurs trying to eat me. If it's not demons trying to catch me, it's crazed animals trying to rip me to shreds.
I used to meditate alot when i was younger. I felt i unlocked doors in my mind, then experienced vivid dreams i could actually play around in. After awhile of having these lucid dreams, i started feeling like i was being watched. Then after while i would find i was being stalked by a man in all black. Eventually he kept trying to kill me. Then i stopped meditating, and now i have all kinds of freaky dreams. It's driving me insane. So i try to smoke weed before bed at night, because my wife is sick of me waking up screaming.

its a tryptamine, its an endogenous chemical that tells your body its time to go to sleep, and its perfectly safe
probably during rem sleep, meletonin is metabolized to dmt in your pineal gland
but it definately works and it perfectly safe... i take 3-9mgs of it on a very regular basis to keep my circadian rhythm straight and its not habit forming cause i can still get to sleep without it, but it helps you fall asleep a lot faster
its a common over the counter dietary supplement and is approved by the USDA as "safe"

maybe its coincidence, maybe not. but since ive quit smoking back in january, i have been having some crazy vivid dreams. it used to be very rare that i would dream and remember it much longer than 10 mins or so. now, i wake up and i can remember them vividly all day.

absolutely. i swear by melatonin. it was the only thing to help me get through the insomnia after quitting smoking pot. now, i take 5mg every now and again when i feel restless and im out within 30 mins and im OUT. some of the best sleep i have is on nights i take melatonin.
