I used to every time we went to the beach when I was little. I got tired of eating fucking sand every time I fell so I haven't tried it in years.

ah, you must not have had the right size board if you were catching your nose. most kids ride these little wood boards that couldn't ride a wave.

I love skimboarding, but it's not a big sport to me so I just dick around on a wooden one. Summer is almost here, I'm excited for beach days.
edit: How much does a carbon board cost?

i paid 399.00 for the poly vac carbon. i've ridden an ultra vac before and it was so nice. wood boards really suck unless you make your own and it has to be huge and heavy to actually float you on the wave. it's really a whole different sport with a foam board, more like skateboarding and surfing, especially once you learn to ride waves and do ollies and shove its. you have to learn to read the waves too and time your attack. most fun sport ever once you get the hang of it. i wish i knew some other skimboarders in oregon. it's so much more fun to skim with other people.

i have a zap fish foamie. it was a decent board but it got pretty beaten up on rocks. worked great as a learner board.

zap makes ok boards but that one in the large size will only float you if you weigh less than 145 pounds. you definitely want to be able to float even if you haven't learned how to ride waves yet.
