 Should I stop shaving my face?

what would the pros be? what would the cons be?
i've had sideburns since 7th grade but i shave them halfway from the ear. i've never grown out any facial hair and i think i just want to stop shaving for some time.
if my facial hair grows moderately fast, how long would it take to have a full grow beard?
suggestions?

Pros- You will looks like a fucking viking.
Cons- People will fear you....or possibly look to you as a guru depending on your clothing choice.

i cycle my facial hair.
1. let it grow out ridiculously for 3-5 weeks and not do a thing with it.
2. shave all but my sideburns off.
i love it. little maintenance, and the fiancee thinks it makes me look rugged

I've been wearing a beard for 8 years and cant stand the thought of having to shave regularly. I trim it down fairly short every 3-4 months then let it grow until my mustache hangs too far over my lips -- then trim it again.

i shave nearly everday
i tried to grow a beard but it didnt look nice
its a bitch shavin
but at least i dont hafta shave my legs n pussy everyday like my gf

i'm freakishly hairy.. my facial hair connects to my chest hair. if i don't shave i look like a warewolf....
usually what i'll do is shave the neck section pretty regularly, so i can at least look sorta like a human, and then i'll grow the rest of it out. i can have a full on alaskan wilderness mountain man beard in about 4 weeks.

I got an extremely long beard..
I won't cut it for shit!.. Everyone i know tells me if i did, I wouldn't be the same. I'm like a big teddy bear. I could shave my whole beard off and it would grow back within a few weeks. Just like my hair.. I guess all Puerto Ricans are pretty hairy(from what I've seen)

I've had a varying degree of lengthness of a 5oclock shadow for almost 3 years now. I have not had a cleanshaven face in taht time.

I love to have a nice beard but I can't have one right now because I'm trying to get a job.
One of the cons of a beard, especially a wild untamed beard is that people will think you're 10 points dumber and lazier.
Another con is that good looking women are usually averse to men with beards and therefore will look right past you towards a clean shaven, gel haired, dumb as rocks, steroid shooting meat-head. Thats how it is here anyway.
Lately for me the only pro's of having a beard would be that I like to have a beard and I dont have to shave. But its not that bad because my hair is blond so I can go 3 or 4 days after a shave before it starts to become visible again.

Alas, my facial hair comes in thin and blonde. It's pretty joe-dirt style too, I just grow sideburns, a mustache, and a little bit on my chin...no big connection sections.
Do it! If for no other reason than to let me live vicariously through your beard!

beards do rock! I loved it when I grew my first beard. If I keep it trimmed it actually looks pretty nice. But I don't really care enough to put the effort in. Shaving sucks, and I always get nasty razor burn on my chin, and lots of ingrown hair and shit...
But I was told by a woman once that beards repel women. Maybe that's why I've been single for so long...

To me, hair is completely natural. I do understand if you're trying to get a job, like boneman said. But when it comes down to it, why spend money on razors for shaving hair that is natural?

I shave my beard down with clippers to 3mm every week or so. It's most comfortable like this, not spiky stubble but soft. Clean shaven gets on my tits because unless I shave like twice a day it feels like my face is made of sandpaper.
Sometimes I do my whole head and face the same length and I feel like I have found a loophole in the system
