"OMG was that my lung!?"

The only other person I found that had this happen to them is MOTH, and the post is from 2005, so I chose not to bump it.
I just finished my last final and came home to celebrate with a little weed and nitrous. On my largest hit I experienced something I've never experienced before that was very similar to what MOTH described. My visual was of a red sack thing that had the bottom blown out of it, and i though "OMG was that my lung?!" It was really quite real.
The strangest part is, I just did another smaller one and had the same feeling to a lesser extent.
I just had to post this because it's freakin wierd.

there are posts about this phenomenon that sound very similar to what I'm experiencing.
I think it has something to do with switching between nose breathing and mouth breathing. It's like my nitrous brain doesn't recognize some parts of my throat.
crazy.

Yeah, man, I believe you. I've experienced a somewhat similar version of that before.
It is funny, though!

Maybe your body is trying to tell you something? You could try stopping smoking for a while to let your lungs clean out then get going again so they aren't constantly put under a lot of pressure. Maybe smaller hits too Be Nice to yourself

I hate it when I succumb to paranoia like that, suspecting that something's wrong in my chest cavity. Sometimes, after I smoke a little too much, I'll almost convince myself that an artery has burst near my heart, I'll look at my arms and feel as if the blood is draining from my body and my limbs are getting weaker, then try to rationalize and tell myself that I'm not dying. It's not very fun; small amounts are key.
You feeling alright now?

I felt fine immediately after I realized my lungs had not burst.
The feeling was so real however, that every time I did a whippit after that I could feel the same sensation. I've been afraid to plunge all the way back into the nitrous world though. I have to make myself realize I'm not dying.
Nitrous was a lot more fun when I had just discovered it. I'm pretty sure this reaction has more to do with my intelligent mind knowing that nitrous in large amounts is bad for my body. It's like a built-in safety mechanism.
There was also an experience shortly after I thought my lungs burst where I got a visual of a beautiful woman with extremely long blonde hair inside my lungs. I could feel the "bursted lung" sensation, but the woman was stroking the inside of my lung with her hair, kind of like a paintbrush. She was very calming, and the feeling of her touching the inside of my chest was very vivid and real.
all this from pot and nitrous.
When I do nitrous on LSD or shrooms, it's way more intense, but I can never remember any of it.

Wow. Pretty intense.
-------------------- I must not Fear. Fear is the mindkiller . Fear is the little-death that
brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and
through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. ONLY I WILL REMAIN.

I fucking love nitrous. It's like weed to me in the way that it compliments a lot of drugs in the best of ways.
I haven't fucked with it in a little while, got damn I miss that shit.

I love it too...it's just that I can never completely get the thought out of my head that I'm not breathing oxygen.
It seems that the only way to do it is all in one sitting...for serious. I guess that's a sign that I am weak, but I think it's like that for everyone. Don't stop til it's gone.
