You can go to freecreditreport.com, you just have to make certain you cancel.
I did it, got my score, and called to cancel 20 min. later.

In my experience loans are much easier to get from credit unions than from the national banking chains. When I needed a loan I was able to more or less dictate all the terms to my credit union. Amt, term, rate. My requests wern't unreasonable but they were better than the advertised rates. They gave me the loan with mininal collateral eventough my credit is in the crapper.
It goes to show, you have not because you ask not.
