A 17-year-old Fishers boy faces juvenile court action following his arrest this week as a suspected drug dealer.
Maj. Lee Goodman, who heads the Hamilton/Boone County Drug Task Force, said the boy was arrested at his home Tuesday following a two-month investigation into LSD trafficking.
He was taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of possessing and dealing LSD.
The Indianapolis Star does not generally identify juveniles charged with criminal acts.
Goodman said the boy had sold less than 20 hits of the psychedelic drug known as acid to an undercover agent and informant in the vicinity of 116th Street and Brooks School Road.
He said, too, that this investigation and others indicate an increased use of the drug in the county.
“LSD for some reason is making a comeback,” said Goodman. “This year we have purchased more LSD than we have in recent years.”
And increasingly, he added, area youths are identified as LSD users.
Goodman said the boy arrested Tuesday was a senior in the Hamilton Southeastern Schools system.
“He didn’t divulge where he was getting the LSD, but he was fairly active in the school with LSD,” said Goodman. “I don’t know that he was dealing in school, but to other school students.”
He said the investigation is continuing to determine who was buying LSD from the boy and who was supplying him.
“There may be other arrests down the road,” he said.
While dealers’ suppliers are often difficult to identify, Goodman said, LSD sold here might come from Chicago or Canada.
“I don’t know if they’re manufacturing there or not, but that’s been our source, Chicago and Canada coming down to the Indianapolis area.”

Authorities said juvenile drug dealing charges against a Fishers teenager implicated in sales of LSD will be amended to reflect that the merchandise bought by undercover police was fake.
"He may not even know that it wasn't real," said Hamilton/Boone County Drug Task Force Maj. Lee Goodman, who suggested the youth might have been scammed by his supplier. "We're still going to charge him."
Goodman said charges against the Hamilton Southeastern Schools senior arrested at his home Tuesday would be amended after receiving results of a laboratory analysis Thursday.
Hamilton County Administrative Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jeffrey Wehmueller said the boy now faces a charge of dealing a lookalike substance.
"LSD is not like other substances, where you can tell pretty much on physical examination," Wehmueller said of the small drug-bearing tabs of paper routinely analyzed at the Indiana State Police laboratory for verification.
Goodman agreed that field tests on LSD aren't always conclusive. He said the boy never indicated that the paper doses sold to a task force informant weren't real, though.
"We know, because of his admission, that he was selling to others," Goodman added.
The task force leader said the boy was arrested Tuesday with a court order that was obtained following the purported drug deal in March.
"He was charged with the real stuff until we got that report back," Goodman said of the pending lab analysis. "Whether he truly knew it was fake, I can't say yes or no."
Because the boy is a minor, authorities withheld his name in accord with routine juvenile court processing.
Goodman said evidence indicates the suspect had been selling authentic doses of the psychedelic drug to fellow students, however, and that investigation is ongoing.
"There could be more arrests," said Goodman, who described the case as continuing evidence of an increase in local use of the hallucinogen.

this is the county I live atm..I don't live in Fishers(i have several friends that do), but 116th and Brook School where the article mentions is less than a mile away from a AFAOF gets their trees...
This is hilarious. I tell you one thing, If he was was an adult he would FUUUCKED. We have really harsh laws on the herb not to mention 'harder' pyschedelics.
On a side note, they are definately right about the come back. AFAOF found stocked up on killer doses. But, it's not coming from Chicago or Canada. This would be from west coast from the USPS. Seems to be the latest craze.

There is nothing worse than scumbags selling fake shit. if he knew it was bunk and selling it anyway, i hope he gets 11 years! Is there no integrity in the culture? It turns out there are a few people around the area. I have grown lived in Hamilton my whole life, I have seen all kinds of people go down for some bullshit. A lot of people I know are/have done the probation thing from Hamilton. Needless to say, it won't be long before I get the fuck out of here.

do you think the lab tested for DOX or any RC's? I wonder if they just tested for LSD and didn't find any so they called it fake. I guess it doesn't make any difference, but it'd be interesting to know if they look for that kinda thing..
