This book simply titled Opium I got at half-price books. On the back it says "Includes information on growing, harvesting, and using opium, along with legal status."
That's why I bought it
It also has a lot of history and basically covers everything about opium.
I'm also still reading "Steal This Book!"
For some reason, I've been reading and listening to lots of Clapton only

There has been quite a bit of fiction discussed in this thread. Myself, madtowtripper, OMR have all made numerous posts about fiction as have several others. It's there, you just have to look a little.

Wait a minute. You know that. You even rated me kindly for giving book recommendations and I'm sure they were fiction. Did you read any?
I'm not surprised that there is an over-representation of drug and philosophy related stuff here. Some of them might just be showing off but this is a primarily drug site and a rather gaze inducing drug at that.

Is it Opium: A History by Martin Booth? That's on my bookshelf, but it's a little dry for my tastes...

Nope. Just "Opium" It is part of The Little Book Series. I also have a book titled Psychedelics from the same series. They just basically cover everything about the specific subjects.

This is one of the most amazing books I have, it is so packed with interesting knowledge and practices. It is amazing that he put this book together at age 24, because it is one of the best books on the subject!
I haven't gotten too far into it, because it takes dedication to remember it all and do the excercises, but I'll have a lot more time soon.
Peace!
I just got back A Confederacy of Dunces so I wanna try and finish that before getting into some other awesome book.

Well, Grendel was awesome.
Now I'm about halfway through David R. Wilkerson's Purple Violet Squish. It's an anti-hippie book by the guy who wrote The Cross and the Switchblade, as well as 1973's The Vision.
So it's hilarious and all. I'm enjoying the crap out of reading it, but I just reached a chapter called "Sex In The Seaweed" and he's talking about some new drug called "Sex Juice" or "68". It was apparently taken on sugarcubes, and was (like everything else in this guy's uninformed opinion) a lot like LSD.
The only problem is that I can't find any references to it anywhere else. Did someone pull a hoax on this guy? Did he get fooled by a big joke? Or was it some research chem I've just never heard of? Maybe Pihkal and Tihkal readers can help with this one.

I am halfway through Matthew Reilly's Seven Ancient Wonders. I have read most of his novels.. IMO Ice Station and Scarecrow are his best.

Reading again Another Roadside Attraction by Tim Robbins, Im pretty much in love with his kind of fiction.
Starting Secrets of Shamanism by Joel and Lena Stevens, well I love how shamanism is focussing on developping your imagination, your own weird and intense spirit world. Even if Im skeptic with some of that stuff, practicing to visualize can't do bad at all!
And going through Central America's Lonely Planet, mainly because Im gonna hitchhike all the way to Panama in a week or so, rain season is starting out there, un chingo de hongos, pura vida y buena vibra!!

Ever read Christopher Moore or Tony Vigorito?

Those authors seem funny from what I've read about em, I'll have to check em out.
I've been reading The Seven Mysteries of Life by Guy Murchie. I just started it but already I enjoy the way he writes, this book is one of a kind!
I've also been reading and rereading Angel Tech: A Modern Shamans Guide to Reality Selection by Anterro Ali. I've had this book for some time, but am just now able to really begin to comprehend the information in the book. It's already helped me see some things within myself and others that wasn't necessarily so apparent. I recommend this book, but don't get it if you're looking for a smooth read.
