Pedro Question

Will a Pedro pup before it has a root system?
I just threw a Pedro cutting in some soil about 1.5 weeks ago and I already notice a pup bursting out of the top.
Does this mean she's ready to be watered within the next week? Or even sooner? The sun is finally out here in Oregon, so they will be getting 5 or so hours of direct.
I don't wanna starve this new little pup of water, but I also don't want to acquire root rot
Thanks in advance

A pup doesn´t means roots necessarily, but you can water it sparingly as it will make the roots grow faster.

Thanks felix, I will probably start watering sparingly within a few days... as long as the sun stays out.

perfectly normal. 2 of my cuttings had pups before roots and they were fine for about two months. watering is fine like felix said.
