 Profoundly Intense Weed Trip

So last night I had this experience I am still trying to come to terms with.
First, a little background info. I rarely smoke weed anymore since it had always made me somewhat paranoid, or self concious. However, last night I only did a couple bong hits with my roomate and I blasted off into this whole other dimension of awareness. I started analyzing every detail of my existence and how others see me and interact with me. My mind was stuck in this strange paradox, struggling to come to terms with my idenity. On one side, was the self awareness that was almost agonizing as I explored the possibility that I am totally different from everyone else and I am oblivious to this in my every day life. And then a part of me was still semi-concious of the fact that I was just really high and weed gives me the tendency to dwell on paranoid thoughts.
After a while of thinking this way, I layed in bed and and began listening to my ipod. It became extremely intense as I totally lost touch with reality. It was almost as if the music was trying to tell me something. And I began hearing all these messages in the lyrics and sounds that I never comprehended before. It was almost as every song I played was talking directly to me and in sync with my inner monologue. Like if i thought one thing, the lyrics in the song would coincide so perfectly to answer that thought, that it was like someone was actually talking to me. It seemed like I was being prodded at to have an epiphany by something deep within in the music/my mind.
Then after a while it felt like every part of me had just dissipated into this other realm with this other entity. Then I mustve passed out.
Honestly, this trip was one of the most profound experiences I have ever had. I never knew weed could cause such a heavy duty trip. Im probably going to spend the next little while coming to terms with some of the things I experienced in that trip.
Sorry for the longish report. But has anyone ever had an experience on marijuana or anything else for that matter, remotely similar to this?

Weed can do that, happens to me sometimes but not in exactly the same way it happened to you, but still intense. Its quite an amazing drug.

That's exactly what happens if I go even a day or two without smoking and then smoke again. I remember when I was younger I would basically trip every single time I smoked. Quality of the bud didn't seem to matter either...

Yeah, I can relate for sure. My more memorable experiences with MJ were very self-analyzing, self-conscious, paranoid trips. It's cool, usually I have absolutely nothing out of the ordinary on my mind before the first hit, and within ten minutes I'm recalling seemingly obscure conversations from months or even years before and analyzing how I carried myself, how and why others reacted to my actions and statements, and generally drawing self-doubting, paranoid type conclusions from my observations which I am sure to discard of later.  I like it though. I think a little paranoia every now and then is a good thing; it keeps you on your toes.

I love it how when I'm really high just before bed I can hear the voices talk to me. Normally they don't have any accent or real emotion. It's a profound medicine and guide.

There have been incidents where pot highs have rivaled, or even surpassed, mushroom and acid highs, it's pretty intense because not only do you have to deal with the collision of bizarre thoughts in your head, your profoundly unprepared that THC could do that to you

Yeah, I've gotten some incredible trips from just MJ alone. If your tolerance is high, try taking some 5-HTP a couple hours beforehand and it'll gain a whole new psychedelic quality.

I've heard people I know talking to me clear as daylight (in my head).

thats really interesting that u say that b/c 1 time was i was blitzed out of my skull i felt the exact opposite
i normally feel like i am smarter n shit than most ppl but i looked in the mirror and realized that i am just like everyone else and im not special at all
it was really weird
anyways i thought id share my contrasting experience

i've had amazingly intense experiences with baked grass. never anything noteworthy after just smoking it though.

i've also had insanely intense weed trips, becoming one with the godhead, going deeper than i've ever gone before, even deeper than savlia took me. states of samahdi and pure bliss. complete oneness. for me, weed is truly psychedelic. but mushrooms are MUCH more VISUAL.

Yeah. The drug elitist in me hesitates to call any sort of intense marijuana experience a 'trip' since it does nothing to expand your senses or anything like that, but that doesn't mean weed still can't be a powerful psychedelic.

I used to freak out because weed seemed too "trippy" for just... weed. It was weird. Now I realize I'm not alone in that. People who've smoked stand out alot more to me now because I notice they have the same facial expressions, mannerisms and confusion as someone tripping, just not as profound.

What is 5-HTP? I have never had any kind of experience that I would compaire to a trip with weed. OK well wait a min. I lied. lol After I stoped doing drugs because of my obsessive use of coke., I started again at this party. You all remember that commercial of the girl melting in the couch. Thats exactly how I felt. Like I was melting. I ond't know what kind of weed it was but wish i could get my hands on some now. Damn mids.

you can easily "trip" off weed. It is in a different way than most hallucinogenics though. Just like you can trip off PCP, ketamine, DXM, salvia, etc....
With a low tolerance and some heady buds/hash, you can easily blast yourself off into a full blown psychedelic experience that lasts about an hour. I used to hallucinate every time I smoked, now I'm lucky to get some mild visual disturbances.

haha i know what you mean dood, sometimes getting REALLY stoned kinda sucks because of paranoia. I always wish for a higher tolerance when i get overly paranoid like that, but then after about a week I'm pissed cuz im not getting blasted anymore

Yea man. I'm in debate about this. Need some help. Ok well I described that weed experience but when i trip I don't just see things that are there. It's just an alter view of it. But I have never seen anything altered on weed. So could you call this a trip if you don't really see anything. I just wouldn't ever say weed trip because I don't believe it. Myabe similar body high but deff not the same.

a minority of people (believe it or not) experience open eye hallucinations while under the influence of weed. I am one of these people. It pretty much rawks btw. I'd also say that the body buzz i get off of weed is NOTHING like hallucinogens, not even close....at all....in absolutely no way. Sometimes the visuals are similar (usually not though).
When I'm really high on weed, i see visuals similar to a DXM high...everything looks wierd/distorted. I can't really explain it, but it happens. Sometimes objects in the room will switch position and sway back and forth. Everything looks very bright and outlined. In a dimly lit room at night, and if im not focusing directly on the object, but just in its general direction it stimulates a LOT of visual distortion and this is usually where I get most of the hallucinations from. I love it.
