how would you pollinate the flowers? that means you will need more than one of the same cacti?

well if your talking trichocereus you will need more then one of different cacti as they are mostly sterile when pollenated by itself.

The only Lophophora, to my knowledge, that is self fertile is williamsii. all others are self sterile.

Does that count all variations of Williamsii?

Me and my friend have found that Loph's will flower readily both indoors and outdoors once they are old enough, but to bear fruit they need to go through a cold cycle in the winter, like 40F-50F in the days. My friends lophs that are indoors never fruit, because they're at constant temps, but the ones out in the greenhouse ALWAYS kick out fruits in the season. Just our observations....

in my experience only williamsii self pollinate. diffusa, fricii and koehresii do not. or have not for me. my plants are always above 10C year round outdoors. they flower/fruit whenever it is bright and sunny here. but diffusa are more seasonal.
