 Help me help a friend

How would a fellow shroomerite help a friend ease up on those fucking oxy's?
He's losing his friends to the opiates and it KILLS me to see it. Are methadone clinics a good method of helping somebody get clean? I'm out of ideas and I can't stand not doing something?
Also, I don't want to push him into anything, I feel that if I push him too hard he will completely lock me out making it IMPOSSIBLE for me to help him.

Methadone is good because it'll be by prescription and he won't be breaking the law by getting and taking it. And he won't be spending so much damn money.
But I have never seen anyone go on methadone and successfully clean up their act long term. The usual routine is to be on methadone for a while, taper off of it and stop. Then go back to heroin or oxy when life feels like shit again. Then after a while of using heroin and oxy they go back on methadone. Or they take their methadone during the week and sell their weekend doses to get money to buy dope.
I don't know how bad your friend is but after a certain point he'll only be willing to do something about it when he absolutely can't stand to live that way anymore. Some call it the gift of despair. If you want to push him in that direction you should let him know that you won't hang out with him anymore when he's on oxy.

The guy doesn't care. All he cares about is the damn drug. Right now I think he is a LONG way away from rock bottom, and I think there isn't anything I could possibly do until then.
Threats of not hanging out would not faze him, he'd just get high.
I guess there isn't really anything I can do  but if you have ANY tips I'd appreciate them it kills me to see a person from going from an alive awesome kid to having such a crazy dependency.

Hairy situation.
Does your friend do psychedelics too?
Perhaps give him some, and just express your concern about his "addiction".
I wish the best for you and your friend.
A few of my friends have been successful in kicking the opiates without clinics and whatnot.
:edit: on second thought, scratch the psychedelics. more drugs is not what this guy needs. although, i do believe a high enough dose could help in the long run

Its not supposed to be just a threat. I'm saying you should actually stop hanging out with him. Its supposed to show him that there are consequences to what he's doing. Maybe he'll get a little insight before the consequences are dire and really force him to change his shit up.
Also, its probably going to be detrimental to your own mental state to continue to associate with a sick person.

I'm not fully sure about his drug use because up until recently he hid it as much as possible.
I'm aware of atleast one use of LSD and Salvia, probably more? As for Shrooms, as far as I know he doesn't use.
And as for consequences, I'm pretty sure he realizes it. He has lost most of his friends already, I'm one of the few that try to keep contact with him.
