Vatican: It's OK to believe in aliens

VATICAN CITY (AP) - The Vatican's chief astronomer says that believing in aliens does not contradict faith in God.
The Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, says that the vastness of the universe means it is possible there could be other forms of life outside Earth, even intelligent ones.
In an interview published Tuesday by Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, Funes says that such a notion "doesn't contradict our faith" because aliens would still be God's creatures.
The interview was headlined "The extraterrestrial is my brother." Funes said that ruling out the existence of aliens would be like "putting limits" on God's creative freedom.

The thesis that I want to advance today is that the drug war and the laws that prohibit the private consumption of certain drugs are unconstitutional. Prohibition laws, themselves, violate every tenet of limited government that is embodied in our Constitution.

Similar ruling on evolution. If thats the way shit went down for things to be they are today, thats how it went down (it just 'went down' a la God's working, and even if you have an abstract concept of God [opposed to a dude with a beard in the sky] it still makes sense). Seems to me idiot Christians in the US are the ones who have problems with their narrow mindedness. Although Catholicism has its limits too.

Thats great! I didn't know that the Catholic Church accepted evolution and the possibility of other life in the universe.
I would gone to see the Pope when he was in the US, ahhh thats great to hear.

its funny, because the vatican and their whole congregation is going through the turmoil of having too change their religion again.
lol. why do religions change. too fit what they want too believe. i myself wouldnt want too believe in something so profound too have the truth of god be handle in a manor of decorating too fit your pleasure.
lol mormons for instance.
hey , you can have 5 wives , god likes it.
or in the 1400's i believe it was, catholics , would come into our reality. changing the secs of the churches.
and even so .
the truth is, we have already found life. it is there. it is true.we just have too get there
on mars water. the poles
in water are micro organisms there is something there in the water .
it may not be big , only seen from a microscope but that should be enough evidence too atleast believe that.
even without the aliens . or evidence and lack there of.
on a funny note/
wouldnt it be , if you went a certain distance farther than our telescopes could see. and you ended up on the other side, behind where you searched. like in asteroids. the game.

'A disk shaped object is shining beams of light down on John the Baptist and Jesus - Fitzwilliam Musuem, Cambridge, England - Painted in 1710 by Flemish artist Aert De Gelder. It depicts a classic, hovering, silvery, saucer shaped UFO shining beams of light down on John the Baptist and Jesus.'

Those old paintings are cool. Makes you wonder where they got those ideas from. Flying machines creating artificial lights weren't invented yet.
Rumor has it that the older versions of the bible, did talk about the ETs, and they were tweaked out of it along the way, though, references to celestial beings visiting from the heavens "stars" still remain in it.
I'm getting ready to think they should introduce themselves globally already and put these freaking gas prices to a rest. I want my free energy flying car dammit!!!

cou;ld have been the lost city of atlantis. the ideas generating from i mean
i have a doc.video ,the origions of man. and with infrared and many other capabilitys we have we have found that the majority of the antartic is mostly land . and they knew that somehow , in the 1500s . the entire map , was constructed over 100.s of years of research prior from maps collected. they knew the world before columbus, before any nordic adventurer
and if any place would be the best place ,i think it would be there. it is in the center of the world.

I've read some of Platos stories on Atlantis and don't recall his describing flying crafts that create artificial light in any of them.
Correct me if I am wrong on that.

lol. why do religions change. too fit what they want too believe.
The way I see it, the Catholic religion is accepting facts as they become known.
That is phenomenal, outstanding.

im unsure and you are probably correct but through out history were depictions of them and as i said
could or may have came from them . just noting that they were the most advance civilization in history even if myth.
