what is best for me atm is realizing the potential there is to experience in this life, and being in deep, still silence.

an orgasm lacks that depth...
may as well just shoot some heroin or eat some Dilauded, lasts a lot longer...

it's too short for guys, maybe women have it better.

there's not enough time to really delve into the moment, it happens then it's over in a flash.

Men can have incredible orgasmic experiences if they learn to orgasm without ejaculating. I've talked to men who practice Tantra, and they say that they've had full-body orgasms which last for 5-10 minutes.

It's not just about the muscles. If you're interested, I'd recommend reading Charles & Caroline Muir's book, "Conscious Loving." It's an excellent guide to the Western practice of Tantra.

for sure, but learning to control the muscles is a requirement when practising seminal retention. but i am aware that there is a lot more to it when cultivating sex energy.

Joy/Bliss, whether it be the joy of sexual union, the joy of egolessness, the joy of relaxation, it is all the same joy.

Joy is what is best in life. :rose:

Try for a whole hour or more, 5-10 minutes is nothing (although better then 2 seconds!!!)
There is no limit, with the right partner & relaxation it can last days.

The most simple thing ive learned from tantra is relax into each other, deeper & deeper relax into each other. There comes a point where both relax-es dissapear and there is endless bliss.

For me it would be victory, triumph over fear...so I guess in a sense Conan and I are on the same page. This can culminate in climbing a mountain that I was afraid to climb, having a orgasm in a moment of total vulnerability with my lover, overcoming a bad trip, completing a task I thought I couldn't handle, or, my favorite, getting up on stage and playing songs that I have written to a room of strangers and seeing that they are actually listening.

Not really, thats your personal interpretation of "what "I" was doing"

I was just saying a 5-10min body orgasm for a man is pretty good, but its also possible to carry this into daily life, or actually have these body orgasms for up to hours, what we feel when we orgasm can actually be a reality in daily life, its not as intense maybe but that place we touch can be discovered fully.

Theres no "anything you can do, i can do better" arrogance about it or oneupmanship as you refer to it, theres actually nothing i can do better or worse than any other being. I don't have the arrogance to believe i'm special or unique!

I often wonder how people can reach sexual union yet not enquire into what is this place that we taste when we orgasm and the "me" "you" "I" disappears...thats how i got into spirituality, just by thinking "when 2 become one, what is that all about?"

Allowing your libido to control your behaviour is a weakness that gives way to addiction. Pleasuring the ego with sex or violence is not nearly as important as most people think. Our goal should be to have NO enemies, and not to have to crush anyone.

Who says that enjoying sex means the libido is in control? Conscious participation in the sensual and sexual appreciation of being alive is NOT addiction nor weakness. Perhaps your POV is based upon the Puritanical viewpoint on sexuality, in which our "lower" impulses are supposed to be ignored in favor of our "higher" spiritual aims. All I can say to that is...

This is why tantra teaches indulgence but awareness, then transcendence happens.

Transcendence cant happen with denial of anything.
If you don't know experience, how can you transcend it? (transcending experience actually meaning transcending life, as life/experience are synonymous)

So sexual experience can be used to transcend into the source of sex, the source of life.

I do not see how transcending either life OR experience is possible, as we are alive and we constantly experience. Are you claiming that we can somehow be above or independent of being alive or experiencing? This sounds like meaningless New Age mumbo-jumbo to me.

Few things beat fudging superlatives where there's none. Humans seem to get a kick out of it, it puts meaning where there's none.
