 Passed out tripping

Made a camp fire out the back, low dose (one local cube cap about 30mm across, dried state) and had a great buzz, closed eye visuals, some morphing about with eyes open, just nice. Done it all before many times.
Two hours in, had beginnings of stomach cramps (really bad) that just got worse until about four hours headed for the toilet thinking that will fix it. Had nt ad cramps during a trip before, only the next day. Although I'd never had to dump tripping I felt I was well and truly coming down, low dose anyway, so it wouldn't be too bad.
I woke up on the tiles in a sweat completely disorientated, had trouble getting up. First time I've passed out and felt like level 4 to 5 for another 15 mins when I should have been at 1 to 2-ish. I think I passed out twice accompanied by some strange impossible animals, it was intense. Sweat was just pouring off me. Managed to get my clothes off and carefully shower before I felt almost completely straight quite suddenly.
Bit embarrassing this morning, some grazes on my face & forehead, still don't know what happened. I'm shocked that I hurt myself.
Anyway, looking for answers, symptoms more like food poisoning so wondering if contamination might be the reason? I considered not sharing this as I sometimes don't need other peoples downers, but I really need to know if anyone else has had anything like it.
Anyone got ideas?"

it can be toxicity but also can be the body's predisposition, or need of collapse and any trigger will do it.
are you sick? is that the predisposition, or was it exhaustion.
One friend was studying, and really had bad cramps, was sure he would die - the washroom helped a great deal, and talking to a friend was good too.
the toilet helped me too on several occasions, but the loss of consciousness may seem odd:
losing consciousness is not that odd with psychedelics, i.e. the amnesiac state follows the immaterial state which follows the visionary. (using the salvia scale which really does seem to apply to all psychedelics and increasing dosages)
so - possibly the dose was up there, or
as the emotions&fear ratcheted up, your baseline was raised, so that a moderate dose could take you into an amnesiac, or unconscious experience.

Thanks for the reply redgreenvines.
Has been interesting time since that trip. As usual stuff gets learned, I have from this. Basically I think you are on the right track, I was suspecting a trigger-ish like concept and your comments have strengthened that. Still recalling new parts of it, probably because of the different states of consciousness I was in. Quite an incredible experience.
It happened for a reason. Still digesting it all.

I remember once I blacked out during a trip on a "heroic dose" of 5g's (c'mon, is that it?). The only difference is, I can recall the cause. Usually, not enough food, a lack of energy, and a lot of pot will do that to ya. I know it happens to me on the odd occasion.

Well the dose was uncertain. I have never weighed a shroom in my life, don't own scales. I ate a big cap, then I have to confess to cleaning up a few small stems and bits and pieces. They must have added up. It's hard when the coffee jar is full of them.

I have seen several people black out and collapse on mushrooms. It seems to me that the trip just gets overwhelming at times and catches you off gaurd.
Just because you think you are at a level 1-2 doesn't mean jack. Gauging your trip while you are tripping is damn near impossible, you usually don't realize just how gone you were til you get back.
Everytime I've seen someone black out it has been around the 3 hour mark from ingestion. It always has only lasted about 1-5 minutes, and always ended with vomit.
