how long does it take to pin?? it's been fully colonized for 3 weeks.. compost bag
    #8398124 - 05/13/08 07:41 PM (4 months, 22 days ago)

okay i have two compost bags from sporesworks. they've been fully colonized for almost 3 weeks now but none of them have pinned. the temp is between 70-75 and they get plenty of fluorescent light.

i think one has hyphal knots (it's been this way for a week) and the other one just became a little bit more fluffy. also, the knotted bag has metabolites on the side.

are the metabolites natural? is it supposed to take this long for bags? and how much longer should it take??

thanks.

have patience, there were 2 blocks i was ready to punt across the backyard towards the compost pile (was seriously going to kick them across the yard...), they had been colonized for about 3 and a half weeks, no signs of contam though... walked into the closet, opened the FC and said fuck it, i'm tossing you bastards out if you don't show me something by the weekend... Saturday morning, as i was reaching in to grab them to toss, i noticed a nice set of pins... this became of those blocks:

....actually, that was just first flush

Aren't you supposed to give them some fresh air? FAE is one of/if not THE biggest pinning trigger right?

well FAE is important but it seems it's not as important as it was once believed. there are many many invitro grows that have worked out very well.

punting the bags is out of the question but i'll wait another week lol.

ps. the avatar is from kopps.
