I have very little anger management :(

Everyday I tell myself, "today, I am NOT going to get angry at anything." And yet everyday I find my blood boiling.I am known to break things, even when I realize it costs ME money to replace, I'm constantly fighting with people and later questioning who was right.
Even when I'm successful in controlling my anger I'm only "containing it" to be blown at somebody else at a latter day.
Something that may seem arbitrary to most will make me hold a grudge for days, or even weeks.
Either way I've realized I cannot do this by myself, and there is no chance I can afford "professional" help, nor would I want to go for help if I could.

This book changed that part of me forever:

Any other advice I'd have for you can be found in that book.

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think now in hard words, and to-morrow speak what to-morrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said to-day. -- `Ah, so you shall be sure to be misunderstood.' -- Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.

Great book! I would also recommend Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. I struggled with my "Irish" temper for decades before I discovered that I was creating my own anger through my irrational beliefs. Here's a link to the basics:REBT
